Took over 5000 pictures with this camera. Thought I was having trouble with the learning curve of a new camera. After taking a good long look at all the images, I called Canon and they said to send in the camera, they had not heard of any of the problems I was a having with the images.
What's great about it: Features
What's not so great: So far, bad image quality
I would recommend this to a friend!

I'm shooting astrophotography. The canon 7d is substandard compared to dedicated ccd cameras made for astronomy, but it does a fair job. The price off the camera is fair for what it is. Bottom line is you get what you pay for. I found the camera almost toy like to use with little point and shoot features. Picture quality is good. It will have to do for now.
What's great about it: It's better than a Kodak
What's not so great: It feels like it was made USA

Where is the memory card?
on December 25, 2011
Posted by: Anonymous
from Erie, PA
For the price I paid for my son's Christmas gift, we were terribly disappointed on Christmas Eve and found there was NO MEMORY CARD with this package deal. Inside the direction booklet, we read that the memory card had to be purchased separately. WHY wasn't that included in the package? Even if the price was higher, it would have made better sense. AT LEAST the package deal should have STATED that the memory card was NOT INCLUDED and HAD to be purchased SEPARATELY! Or given us the option to add it onto the package. My son can not use his camera on Christmas Day when his kids open their presents and will have to wait till Monday! VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!
What's not so great: MEMORY CARD WAS NOT INCLUDED

Being a film SLR owner I've always liked Canon's quality. Currently have 2 Canon Point and shot cameras waiting to purchase a good DSLR. Even looked at some Nikon models. Very glad I spent a little extra for the EOS 7D. The lens that came with the camera is very versatile for every day shooting from wide angle, close ups , and telephoto. The picture quality exceeds the capabilities of my computer monitor. Print photos are stunning look like post cards. Save your money and purchase this camera you'll be glad you did.
What's great about it: In full auto you can't take a bad picture. Great features for creative shots
What's not so great: She's not light weight.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A new breed of camera

After a few hundred shots I have come to grips with buttons and menues. The focus is very fast and have supported me well when shooting sports. I have always been using Canon, but when my interest and time for photographing recently increased I've been looking for a better alternative to my Canon 40D. I have had my eyes on the Nikon 300 until I saw the spec of the new Canon 7D. I'm glad I waited for the 7D to be available and didn't go for the Nikon 300. The Canon 7D gives me the versatility to shoot sport, landscape and portrait. Since I´m travelling around the globe in my proffession I have found the camera to be a little on the heavy side, but this is easely forgiven with the results I get from the camera.
What's great about it: A very competent and versatile camera
What's not so great: On the heavy side with my big zoom
I would recommend this to a friend!
