I loved it! It was a great price and well over what I needed for portrait photography. I do not see myself investing in any new cameras in the near future. I loved the picture quality and the options. A bit complex for the average person to use. I upgraded from a 2006 Sony model, this camera is not even close to what I was using.
I would have liked the tethering cable to come with it though.
What's great about it: Excellent choice for business
What's not so great: steep learning curve for starters
I would recommend this to a friend!

I actually moved from a 5D MkII to this camera. With kids I found myself wanting the pop-up flash and a very fast autofocus. The 7D does not dissappoint and is an awesome camera. It was a great camera before but it's even better now with the new Firmware update.

A quality camera with an awesome autofocus system.

Coming from a t3i, this camera is a beast. The 19 point focus points really help along with it's new autofocus system. The 8 frames per second is really snappy when taking wildlife or action sports. With this awesome upgrade, the weight difference is negligible once you get used to it. I wish canon switched storage card formats from CF to SD.

This Camera is an awesome piece

You don't need to be professional to take quality pictures and hd video. I took some video of a concert, which came out pretty good with high hd quality.
What's great about it: ease of use
What's not so great: it is heavy, you need to eat more to lift it

The camera is every thing you read about. I am still trying to learn all its features. Very solid, buy it is heavy. Allows fully automatic, really like the "custom automatic", where you can "tweak" the automatic.
Menu's are easy to follow, the live mode view is great, you can even check if you camera is level.
What's great about it: Allows great custom pictures, yet allows full automatic
What's not so great: Heavy
I would recommend this to a friend!

This was an upgrade from a well-used 20D. I was considering either the 5D MkII or the 7D. In the end the 7D won because of the price difference and HD video capability. I shoot a range of subjects both for personal enjoyment and for pay and this camera is versatile enough to cover my needs extremely well. The low light performance has been exceptional and I've been very impressed with the subtle improvements in color rendering over the older sensors.
This is a GREAT camera.
What's great about it: Terrific quality and great feel
What's not so great: Focus issues when using the video but nothing that I couldn't get used to
I would recommend this to a friend!

The 7D changes everything. From the film "feel" of the 24fps movie recording to full HD recording to 8fps still shooting to a 19-point autofocus system, this camera is unsurpassed for the price. I've seen several 5D users "upgrade" to this camera because of its advanced features (dual processors! yes! soo soooo fast!).
Good luck finding one of these available before Christmas. I couldn't believe that Best Buy had it, and when I purchased it, they even cut me a deal on an extra battery!!
Great camera. Great purchasing experience. Highly recommend.
What's great about it: Some features - AF system, speed, wireless flash control, color & light metering - are more advan.
What's not so great: APS-C sized sensor. Would be great with a full size, but it would cost another $1,000, too.
I would recommend this to a friend!
