Love this camera. Upgraded from a T3 to this and the quality of the whole camera is just superb. It feels really solid in the hands of the beholder. Only cons is that when you point the camera downward the lens flop and will come out. It's pretty annoying. I'm sure it's like that to all kit lens of the 7D.
What's great about it: Picture quality, quality build, sturdy
What's not so great: Lens flop when pointed downward

I spent 4 months doing research on what DSLR to buy. I checked utube and many other camera websites. My fist choice was the 7D but wanted to do my homework first. I read hundres of reveiws over all models of Canon and Nikkon. In the end I went the 7D and I am absouletely happy with my choice. This camera is crazy good. The picuters are super sharp and the setting are easy to learn and access. After some time playing with it you will be able to change mulitlple setting without missing a beat...it is awesome.
For those of you who were like me reading tons of reviews, read no more. Buy the 7d and you will be blown away by its build quality, image quallity, ease of use and features. Its that easy, buying this camera is a win win. I am super glad I went with this model. It trumps all lower models by light years and beats Nikon in its video.
What's great about it: Great picture quality, build quality is like a tank, features are great and there are many.
What's not so great: Nothing, a little pricey but worth every single penny!!!!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I'm a professional photographer / videographer currently running a business at full speed. Shooting sports, weddings & fast moving objects. The burst mode is Excellent! (the reason I purchased) Photos are crisp & clear, even professional racing with cars reaching top speeds at 190 mph. Never planned on using the video feature. Once I tried it, I found myself using it more with great results in video quality. (grab great photos from the video as well) The high megapixel makes it easy frame, crop and zoom without loss of quality. Overall...I'm "So Pleased" with the 7D.
What's great about it: Burst Mode, Video, Crisp & Clear Photos
What's not so great: Why say not so great? Its Excellent!

This is my first Best Buy review...I'm a normal person...bought the camera from Best Buy, got an email asking if I wanted to review it, so here I go...
It really is a wonderful camera and I'm not sure there's anything better on the market today under $5000. I was deciding between the 5D mark ii and this 7D. I opted for the 7D because it incorporates newer, better technology. When you compare the features of these two cameras, you'll see the 5D doesn't compare...except for that darn full frame sensor. I was really, really stuck on this. I wanted all the features of the 7D, the speed, the style, the new focusing, the processors...but I was so worried about the crop sensor. This was not about money...the cost wasn't an issue. It was about new technology, a better camera versus an older camera with a full frame sensor. In the end, I felt, I couldn't go backwards...the 5D mark ii seemed "old" to me...the 7D felt like the "latest," and it is. Eventually, I assume the 5D will have all of the features of the 7D and more, and I may upgrade then (though I'm not sure I'd need to). I bought the 7D and right away I borrowed a friends 5D mark ii and started comparison shooting with the same lens, same shots, etc. Bottom line, there is NO DIFFERENCE in quality in the shots...if I showed you 10 shots and asked which were better, it'd be like flipping a coin. (If you plan to shoot full length posters, I did not compare, but at 16 x 20 and below, there is no difference.) Did the full frame vs. crop make a difference...yes, no doubt. My solution, kept the better camera (the 7D) and bought a wide-angle lens. I'm happy. Hopefully this helps.
(Side note: hard to tell in the attached compressed photo just how beautiful the quality is.)
What's great about it: fast shots, easy to use, nice weight, good size
What's not so great: crop sensor, needs wide-angle lenses
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I was shopping between the 7D and D7000 and had ample time to shoot with both. Being an old Nikon FM user, I thought my biases would have me leaning towards the Nikon but the Canon truly won me over. The canon takes the cake in build quality, ease of use, and in my opinion IQ as well. I really liked how responsive the Canon was and I consistently got more keepers from my sports shots (could be because of the 8fps burst mode). When I handed both cameras over to my wife and had them set in Auto mode and using 50mm primes in both, the difference in IQ was clear to me. The images on the Canon were visibly sharper. In other modes, you can make sharpness adjustments and shoot visibly sharp pics with the D7000, but in auto, the photos just seemed a tad soft. Don't get me wrong, the D7000 is an amazing camera and in capable hands can take tack sharp pics (Low light capabilities gives the D7000 the edge), but when it came to deciding between the two with my wife, the Canon won. You can't go wrong with either, but I recommend the Canon.
What's great about it: Build quality, IQ, Ease of use, great shots in Auto mode.
What's not so great: No dual card slots, Kit lens is so-so, Priced a little high at the moment due to the disaster in Japan.

I love my 7D from the day I have had it about three weeks now, Just was amazed at how poor my IQ image quality was. I had try different lens for hours until I found the best tack sharpest picture I expected in this price range and found it. The camera is awesome and the images I have now are tack sharp. After reading about the 28-135 lens being catagorized as a 10 mega pixel lens I drop the setting on the camera to medium and retested the kit lens, it still sucked! Please don't be affraid of purchasing this body just test the lens on it or purchase one that can deliver the kind of photos you would like. I am writing this review so others do not need to go through the difficulty I had to. Test the lens, the Camera 7D is almost perfect in IQ. I tested the Canon 15-85 a new lens and Sigma 17-50 also new. Both of these lens bring all the pixels and produces the great pictures, I did go with the Sigma though. it's f2.8, focus faster and sharper just incase some one would like to know. Please make sure you test your new 7D and especially the lens, I could have gotten a bad copy. but I would like to pass on my experiences.
What's great about it: The IQ, super fast focus , 8fps continuos shooting HD video waterproofing. look feel
What's not so great: Expensive , takes time to adjust to a different system, need adition lens

This is my first DSLR, and after many weeks of research, I'm not disappointed with my decision. For years I've used a point and shoot for my wife's marathons and triathlons, and was very upset with many of the pictures....So, I started researching, and spoke with many people who shoot sporting events that actually make a little money doing it. All recommended the 7D over the others that I was considering (T2i, and 60D). Don't get me wrong, the other two that I was looking at are great cameras also, but they can't compare to the 7D's 8 fps. Also, the 7D body is constructed with higher quality material (magnesium), giving it a rigid feel. The other two cameras that I was looking at, have a very "plastic" feel to them.
The only concern I had getting the 7D, was the learning curve....going from an 8 year old Kodak point and shoot, to this mid-range DSLR. I must say that the operation/set-up is very simple. The owner's manual is easy to follow, and there are many on-line videos that can help most with the operation/settings for this DSLR.
This camera works great in other picture taking ventures (other than sports). I've gone to some local parks and shot some wildlife....Awesome results!
What's great about it: Rigid construction, Sharp Images, 8 fps, Great Battery Life, 19 point AF System
What's not so great: Nothing!!!
