If you want the best crop frame camera on the market that can do pretty much everything good to excellent.
Will folks, your search is over! Look no further! This is the one. If someone tells you megapixs don't mean nothing. I can tell you, their probably trying to sale you a film camera.
Pros: 8fps, great in low light, rugged body, very sharp pixs when set up right, price
Cons: should have been full frame

Excellent Camera

I very happy with my Canon 7d. It is an upgrade from a Canon T1i that served me well but was in effect what "training wheels" are to learning to ride a bicycle.
I feel like I have finally grabbed onto a really powerful camera in the form of the 7d. It is a red hot camera of incredible ability. I'm easily getting the action shots of high speed aircraft and night shots that I have always wanted. I'm putting a lot less attention on the camera and more on the subject. It's becoming intuitive. But I'd like to point out the Canon Tutorials for the 7d are well made and instructive and helped to make the jump relatively painless from the T1i, although there was a lot more to learn.
My Canon EF 24 -105mm 1:4L lens is a constant companion with my 7d and the results are spectacular. Thank you Canon!
Pros: it's sooo fast
Cons: owner's manual could be better quality

Very nice workhorse

I have owned my 7D for just over a year now, I usually shoot weddings, portraits and action sports (Tae Kwon Do, MMA, Snowmobiling, Motocross). I have been very pleased with the 7D overall with 2 minor issues. 3 months in, mine quit, died, went belly up in the middle of a wedding shoot, brought out my old XT to save the day. Sent in the camera for repair after taking it to the local Canon Dealer to double check batteries with their 7D. When I got it back (9days) it worked great!!! The receipt said no problems were found and to replace my battery. I have been using that battery for a year now. Not sure what they fixed, but they should have owned up to it. Since then, it has worked flawlessly overall, but I do find myself relying on a gray card while shooting for post production tweaking as the white balance never seems to be quite right, either in auto or any of the settings
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: white balance is off

ANOTHER AMAZING CAMERA
on February 9, 2011

This camera makes my 20D look like a Point and Shoot which is saying something considering that the 20D has taken numerous award winning photos. It is avery sophiscated camera that requires a significant learning curve even for the experienced photographer. The extent of integration of the features, i.e., the exposure zones, focusing points, speedlite, etc., in combination is awesome. The apparent sharpness seems to equal at best to the 20D that has been exceptionally good. This would seem to be somewhat reasonable given the 2.2 times greater resolution. The noise seems to more evident. There seems to be a yellow/orange color cast for some reason. I would have liked to have the articulated LCD.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, electronic level, live view
Cons: sharpness is marginal, noise is marginal, needs +- five stops aeb, needs articulated lcd

My best camera ever, but....

I just love my Canon EOS 7D. Paired with my EF-L lenses, it provides a level of quality and performance unequaled in any camera I have ownwd before. I am an advanced amateur involved in photography for over 50 years so I have owned a good number of cameras. The resolution, AF and flexibility of this camera are, IMHO, as good (or better) as any camera in its niche. The only problem with it (see the "but") is truly unexpected in a camera of this quality and price range. The mode dial turns easily during normal handling and switches mode on you. I have lost anumber of images because of this and I hate it. I try and check before I use it but this is not always possible. I'm surprised Canon make this mistake and even more that it hasn't been fixed yet.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: loose mode ring

Fabulous Camera - Buy One!

This was my second DSLR. I loved my first one, but when I got the 7D it was like entering a whole new world of experience. I love the range of options built in to the camera. My friends are constantly amazed at the vibrant colors I get - I'm sure partly due to the color sensors in the camera that focus specifically on color! The camera has not failed me once in nearly a year of use. I've recommended it to friends who were looking to buy "up" - and they love their 7D, too. There's not really anything you can't do with this well-built, highly reliable, incredible piece of technology. I highly recommend it!!!!
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, weather resistant, dual processors 8 shots/second, flexibility
Cons: needs a better manual to explain options

Amazing Image Quality!
on May 17, 2012

When I first heard about the 7D with it's fast 8 fps, I was sold. However, I was concerned about image quality since it's an APS-C and not full frame. I was relieved to see that the IQ is excellent with great contrast, color, and no noise. Focusing was fast and accurate.
I am mostly a landscape and cityscape shooter. My 7D is always on a tripod when I shoot. And I use a remote shutter release. Every shot turns out sharp. Of course, I shoot at ISO 100 since I am on a tripod. Therefore, noise is not an issue, even long exposure shots.
And when I need to shoot wildlife and birds on rare occasions, the 7D focused fast and accurately.
The only issue I have is that I shoot multiple exposures for HDR. And I think Canon should update its firmware to allow for more than 3 AEB exposures without me having to touch the camera to dial for other set of exposures. And HDR mode would be nice, too.
Other than that, it's an excellent camera with excellent IQ and build.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Missing features/settings, no hdr mode, only 3 aeb exposures
