Awesome Camera

I have been using the 7D for about 1 month now. I finally upgraded from my first "semi-professional DSLR" the canon EOS 10D. Yes, the 10D - it was / is such a good camera i never had a real need to move on. Now that I am getting more serious about photography I finally took the plunge.
This camera is outstanding! Breathtaking photos, fast. I have to admit there is a learning curve on the menu items and features, but in all fairness - what do you expect? This camera does dang near everything!
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice but noisy.

I bought the 7d as an upgrade for my XT. The 7D is packed with great features, but its biggest problem is its noise, even at relatively low iso, and don't even think about 12,800. At iso 400 noise already starts becoming a problem. DPP makes it a little better, but I don't want to spend my time reducing noise when it shouldn't even be this bad in the first place.
Its an A- right now, but take away the noise and its an A+
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: noisy

Compact, nimble, and full of surprises

I upgraded from a Canon EOS 1D Mark III to this to add HD video to my capability. Sounds strange does it? Well I originally intended to get the Canon EOS 1D Mark IV, but then realized that I could get two Canon EOS 7Ds with grips, a lens, and other accessories for the same price of a 1D Mark IV. I could not have been more satisfied with my choice. Even though it is not of the EOS 1 class that I have grown used to, it has enough features to compensate for my purposes. It is loaded with plenty of speed, resolution, and customizations for any professional application. The new AF autofocus system is way ahead of its supposedly "prosumer" class. The built in grid in the viewfinder is an ingenious design as now I can have the option to turn the grid on or off as I need to as opposed to manually instal and remove a focusing screen. It took some learning to orient myself to the design and use of the new camera, but the learning process was a breeze.
Some minor things I do miss from the EOS 1 class. First is the microphone; I like the ability to record audio notes. However, I simply took short video clips with my own voice as a substitute. I also like the EOS 1 class ability to assign custom names to the image files. But this one missing feature is minor as I can simply rename the photos at Adobe Bridge before putting them all together for a final rename batch.
If only Canon would implement some of the features such as new AF system, and speed to the next Canon EOS 5D, they will have a highly competitive prosumer level full frame camera.
Pros: quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

7D Rocks

I was looking for a camera to give me options and to allow creativity to come into play. I much prefer to be creative in taking the picture, rather than in post-production! The 7D provides me with more options than I dreamed possible. Although this is not a camera for beginners, it has been fairly easy to read about and learn. When I purchased the camera, I had researched various cameras . . . the 7D was rated as the best camera on the market. I am so glad I purchased it. I love it!
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Solid Operation
Cons: Heavy/Bulky

Worth It!

I have recently bought this camera as an addition to my 5D Mark III. I love it! Even though it is not full frame, it still gives tack sharp images and professional quality photos. I use the 7D for mostly wildlife photography because it has a high FPS of 8 pictures per second. I also bought this camera because it is reasonably priced. It wasn't too expensive yet it still was up to my par. If you are a wild life photographer then you definitely want this camera because it is extremely weather sealed. I strongly recommend this camera for people who don't want to spend a "full frame price" but still want to get close to "full frame images".
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, pop up flash
Cons: Dim LCD, noisy

My only serious complain is that as great this camera is it does not have a plug in in the raw file to be used by adobe photoshop,it is a big let down.A pro featured camera must be able to be compatible with the # 1 photo industry software. The software that is supplied with the camera to open the raw file can not be tranfered in raw format to adobe. It only transfers the file into jpg. Please solve this issue in your next software upgrade to the camera.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

This camera has it all. A great feature set. Great quality and a price that is very good.
One you master the focus system to fit how you shoot, it delivers typical Canon quality!
Pros: Superior build quality, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, quiet, Quick Start-up time, good battery life, good iso range
Cons: focus system complicated to understand
