This camera takes beautiful crystal clear photos right out of the box. Although there is a lot to learn about using this camera, it is pretty much straight forward. The Auto position on the camera takes out the guess work for most pictures. While I have been practicing and learning to use the camera I take one shot in the auto position and then experment with the other different settings. I did find some tutorial DVDs that helped in the learning process. I purchased this camera for a planned trip to Alaska this year, I can't wait to use it with my new canon EF100-400mm US USM lense to capture some of the wildlife up north.
Pros: quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation
Cons: Heavy/Bulky

By far the finest camera I have ever owned. Operator friendly, quality construction and exceptional pictures. The T series are lighter but I prefer the construction of the 7D. Well worth the price.

good color , alot of settings . it will fire 430exii and 580exii from the pop up flash this is nice . the 8fps is nice to . if you never shot 8fps you will see the shots you have missed . I wish it was a full 35 but its not its a 1.6 crop . after i got use to it and ajusted some settings
i find my self useing it more then my T1i . I used mine for 2 weeks to see what it was doing befor i made any ajustments . after i ajusted the settings I was like wow.

Love this camera! I shoot photography professionally and this camera's autofocus system has upped my photo keeper rate from 60% to a consistant 90+%! It is always in focus! I love it!
I wish it had a full frame! I hope that the 5d MK III has the 7D's autofucos system, or the 7D MK II has a full sensor! I will buy either of these and use my 7D as a secondary.
Pros: autofocus is awesome
Cons: not full frame :)

I'd been looking at upgrading my Canon Digital Rebel camera that was a few years old - and luckily my wife beat me to it, and purchased the EOS 7D for me for Christmas.
What a great gift, and what a great camera. The camera is a bit heavier than I'm used to - but it feels good and balanced in my hands. This is my 6th Canon camera, going back to the AE1, F1, A1 film cameras (all of which still are in use).

The picture quality is superb, and with all the features on the camera - I don't feel like I've explored everything quite yet. With all the features - I'd like to see Canon include the owners manual on the camera, so I could retrieve the instructions on the LCD panel when I'm out in the field and don't have the manual with me.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation

Love this camera. Replaced my 40D with this and couldn't be happier. Just be aware the focus is very slow when in video mode. Not the end of the world since this is a still camera I don't mind.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality

I upgraded to the 7D from the 10D, which was a great camera also at the time, and it was the best thing I ever bought. It never fails to provide me with excellent images and I spend a lot less time in the PC processing my photos after shooting. I would recommend this camera to anyone. Great unit.

Great for telephoto, sports, airshow, nature uses.

I have owned this camera for a year. It is outstanding for sports, airshows, nature due to its 1.6x crop sensor, numerous features and flexibility and very high-speed bust capabilities. It is also built like a tank as it is made out of metal rather than plastic. The downside is that it adds weight. A battery grip is mandatory as it is power-hungry. The battery grip improves also ergonomics, but increases weight. Like most crop sensors, it can be used for landscape and portrait work, but a full frame camera is better. Also, Canon has done much to reduce noise in low light/higher iso settings, but again, a full frame is better suited. I am pleased with my purchase and the camera serves me well, particularly with regard to the use of telephoto lenses for action and nature photography. While it shares many features with the 60D, it is a bit faster and more rugged.
Pros: great for action sports telephoto
Cons: could use a articulating view screen like the 60d
