I've been using this product for a couple years now and I couldn't be happier! I went from paying the phone company over $40 a month for basic phone service to just under $4! Well worth the initial upfront cost of this device.
The only drawback is that this is a VoIP phone so if you don't have a strong internet signal or bandwidth (calls can be spotty when several devices in our home are connected to the router) you can lose the signal.
What's great about it: LOW MONTHLY COST
What's not so great: NEED A STRONG INTERNET SERVICE

I was paying ATT $65 month for a basic land-line. My wife told me it was time to let the land line go as we both use our cells primarily.
However like everyone else, most of my financial history and security information is validated with the land line.
This option to push it to Ooma was a no-brainer and pays for itself in 2 months. We still plan to ditch the land-line, but at $3/month for government fees, I may hold it a little longer.
The transition was pretty simple. Ooma handled the number port in about 2 1/2 weeks. Set up was simple and straight forward.
It's only been 2 months, but so far I'm happy I finally pulled the trigger.

What's great about it: No more monthly $65 ATT bills.
What's not so great: So far nothing to report

Verizon ported home number to Ooma in 4 days

Some Best Buy reviews indicated that porting your old number would take a month or more to port your old number to Ooma. My experience was much faster. I registered my Ooma on Saturday night, and my old Verizon number was ported Wednesday, so let's call that four days or three business days. I live in the mid-Atlantic, near Annapolis.
So far, Ooma seems to work fine with our three old Panasonic portable phones.

I am so pleased with Ooma. I have cancelled my landline with a major company where I was paying $30/month for local ONLY! I purchased for $100 Ooma's set, hooked up my phone, ported my number for a one time fee of $40. Now, I'll be paying about $3 a month for unlimited local AND long distance (in the U.S.). Fantastic deal. And, so far it's working just great. Clear calls, no dropped calls. Wonderful.

I'm not sure why I waited so long to buy one of these. It looked interesting from the outset, but I guess I didn't trust it. I think I was afraid of hidden costs or poor quality of product and service. WOW! I WAS COMPLETELY WRONG! The product is first class quality, even to include the packaging. The setup was extremely easy, as well ... and it went exactly according to the instructions. As for quality, it's better than my land line. And here's the really great feature ... it travels with me around the world. I'm writing this review from Portugal, and my OOMA setup is here on my desk. I have "local" stateside phone service wherever I go. It works exactly like my home phone, except the quality is better. Congratulations to the OOMA team for a really great and useful product.
What's great about it: Easy to set up, great quality, and good price.
What's not so great: Personally, I did not want the automatic, free subscription to Premium.
I would recommend this to a friend!
