I had been researching this product for months and was skeptical that it would truly work. We finally decided to give it a try and it has been almost 2 months. This works great! We were able to keep our same phone number. We called our old phone company to cancel our phone service to find out that our bundled bill with them that was supposed to give us a discount for getting cable, phone and internet will not be about $50 less without phone service. Our first month of Ooma service was $3.47!!! What a savings!!!! I have already bought a box for my father also and I would recommend this to anyone I know that wants to save money on their home phone service. I did have to call customer service twice but I had no problem getting through, short wait time to reach someone and my problems were solved quickly. My problems were: 1. First attempt to port didn't go through successful and I had to call to see why. (Could have been due to my phone company not wanting to lose my service.LOL) Also, I decided to change my second line phone number to a more local number since I didn't see a local number when I initially set up my ooma. They were nice enough to change my number at no charge. (Usual fee is about $20-30) 2. I lost my second phone line once the port was completed. They quickly added it back to my account within minutes.
What's great about it: Easy set up. Great savings. Worth every penny.

It worked fine for 14 months, then the equipment failed and the mfg wouldn't do anything for me. Their attitude was like too bad-so sad just buy another one. They said quote "we know you are dissappointed". So OK.... divide $199 by 14 months and it's $14/month for equipment. Add the $14 monthly monthly charge from Ooma and that equals $28/per month. Do yourself a favor and add that $28 to your cell phone bill.
What's great about it: Nothing really
What's not so great: High priced short lived equipment

Ever since I hooked up Ooma, it interfered with my Roku, wireless to my laptop, etc. Some of the phone calls were extremely choppy too. And yes....it was hooked up correctly. Was easy to return and I did not accrue any charge via Ooma for the 2 weeks I used it.
What's great about it: Easy to set up, cheap phone service
What's not so great: Cost of unit is a bit expensive, interfered with my internet to other devices

I switched from Vonage to avoid the annual fee.
One add'l "not so great" wouldn't fit below, so here it is:
- Since I connected in recommended manner, all my internet traffic goes thru the Ooma device to be prioritized (phones are top). My cable modem is rated for gigabit speed but Ooma is not, so if my ISP ever speeds up service, Ooma will prevent my taking advantage of it.
What's great about it: - Low cost; can use existing home phone network
What's not so great: - Base station takes up counter space; - No ability to pickup current calls into voicemail without premier service

Have had about 3 weeks. Was concerned that may have a problem as it is used over internet but encountered no difficulties. Online support has been helpful and available 24 hours a day.. Easy to start up and use Ooma Premier which is optional which provides extra services. Saving over a hundred dollars a month. With Ooama - Linx have added FAX and other lines. Could not be more pleased.
