My Ooma equipment quit working after 6 months. I called them to replace it and said they would and they promised to overnight it because I needed a phone. After 4 calls, they final shipped one out but not overnight. When I called again to find out what was going on, they said there was nothing they could do and it would be at my home in a week. So, I am without a phone for 9 days and was made a promise that they would not honor. I would much rather pay the phone company a monthly fee than have to deal with this!
What's great about it: looks nice
What's not so great: Cheap equipment and horrible customer service

This product did not work for me. My vonage works fine. During my install, the device killed my internet for over three hours. After it came back up, I instilled 48 install trying to work it. The device never worked. I contact Ooma for assistance. They could not get it working. Ooma required a purchase the telo to get the product to work. That would cost me over $300 for one phone. Apparently, you cannot use your cordless home phone with the Ooma. Complete waste of time. I do not suggest anyone buy this product. The description and how it works is misleading.

Bait and switch product. Advertised as no monthly fees - they charge monthly taxes and fees. Then they don't have any available phone numbers forcing you to port your own number for another $40. Tried to work with the customer service to make this work and their only option was to charge me more and more money.

The quality is poor - even with upgraded Internet service. Re-activation by a second user is $79 so you if you keep it past BBY return date you will not be able to resell it for what you bought it for. Ripoff!

I've been using Ooma for over a year now. I used used to pay about $50 per month for my landline. So $250 once and done - you can't beat it. I recently recommended Ooma to two friends. Both bought it, and now we all think it's great. No problems at all. The voice quality is fanastic with Comcast internet. I would recommend a UPS power supply for electrical outages though.
What's great about it: No more phone bills
What's not so great: Porting my old phone number was a hassle, but I mostly blame Verizon.
