This is a classic anime movie that recently got a modern Hollywood remake. Personally, I think this original version is much better as it's less cliché and delves more into the philosophical aspects of what it means to be human. If you're a fan of anime or someone who watched the Scarlett Johansson flick and is now curious to see what the original movie was like, I highly recommend checking this out. There are some pretty significant differences that I don't want to spoil here.

Like the summary says, it's the original version but in HD! I was holding out on getting this for a friend since they enjoyed the new live-action film to show them how it's supposed to be ;P But I didn't want to get them the GitS 2.0 film because I hated to added CGI that stood out so starkly against the traditional animation.
If you've seen the new movie, I totally recommend getting this to see where it all came from (not to mention this film was also an inspiration for The Matrix movies too!).
