Love this Oven

Had this double oven installed the end of October just in time for the holidays. Our old oven was 20 years old. This one is "bigger on the inside". We love the Warm feature on the lower oven to keep food warm waiting for serving. Also love the Proof feature on the lower oven. Baking bread is so much easier with a controlled location to let the doughs rise. Have not had to use the self-cleaning feature yet. Only one wish. The old oven had a dual timer. Miss that second timer.

Cooks Great Doesn't heat up kitchen

I bought this double oven about 2 months ago to replace the original GE double oven ( which lasted 20+ years). It cooks great frozen meals, baked goods come out browned evenly. It does not heat up my kitchen excessively. It is easy to use. I had a professional installer hook it up. I believe some things are DIY, electrical and plumbing, better to leave to pros who do this every day.
My only suggestion for improvement is that it only has 1 Timer for a double oven . (my old GE had 2 timers, 1 for each oven ). I just use the microwave timer if I need a 2nd timer. All in all it is a great product.
GE also has a fit guarantee. If you replace your old GE with a new GE oven (same size) they guarantee it will fit, or they will pay for the "above an beyond cutting/adapting the installer would have to do. " Note, you have to take pix, have the installer write in the bill that cabinetry had to be adapted, etc. see GE website)

Self-cleaning both ovens

Hot air blowing during the self-cleaning means windows need to be opened.
Temperature control is good and racks can be placed in different places easily.

Great features for a great price

I bought this for my mother and installed it with my adult son's help. It's heavy and the doors need to be removed prior to installation. The instruction manual doesn't reveal that there are locking tabs that prevent you from getting to the locking mechanism on the doors. You need a small allen wrench to remove them. Then you can follow the directions.
