GE 27 inch electric double convection oven.

This oven replaces a GE 27 in double convection oven installed in 2001. It fit in the same space as the previous oven but has an interior volume 10% larger which accommodates larger cooking utensils. It also has porcelain covered oven grates which slide better and are easier to clean. We have used it only about 2 months and are pleased with the cooking and the appearance.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great double oven

I’ve my new double oven. Controls are easy to use. The only thing I wish the control for the oven light should be separate for upper and lower. Will have to read how to start the timer.

We purchased (and installed) this oven one year ago to replace a 27" GE double oven that was here since the house was built in 1985. That appliance was still completely functional although I had to replace the mechanical clock/control module with a digital one four or five years ago. The old unit only had one self-cleaning oven and one regular oven and the style and colors were a bit out of date. Everything still worked including self cleaning.
We just thought it was time to upgrade and that a GE replacement would be easier to install. I did have to trim about 1/8th of an inch on one side to get the new unit complete into the old cutout. This new oven has worked perfectly since day one and after one year we are still very pleased. This new oven has some nice features and looks great, but the main thing is it works as expected and advertised.
If there is any con to the oven, it is that the time to preheat is a little longer, but the clean-up (between self-cleans, and after self-cleaning) is so much easier with the heating element below the oven floor!
Looking back after a year of using the appliance for probably 5-7 times a week for a variety of dishes, I can't think of anything, other than a second timer, that we could have asked for (and our microwave timer is right next to the ovens, over the cooktop) so that is really a non-issue for us.
I would recommend this to a friend!
