i like my new oven. its larger inside than my last one which is nice for baking more than one thing at a time. i do wiished it heated up faster, but its ok.

Good replacment oven

The oven built into the wall of our house died. Unfortunately the size of ovens have changed since the mid 1970's, so very hard to find an oven that would fit into the existing opening. This one was about 1/2 inch wider, so we were able to cut away a bit of the cabinet and fit it in. Because of our size restriction, we were much more interested in fit rather than options.
Over all it is a good, functional oven. It seems to warm up a bit slower than our previous one, but that is minor. It does have a fan which blows warm air into the room, from shortly after you turn it on until it cools down, pretty long after you turn it off. In New Hampshire, for most of the year, this is fine, but we do avoid using it on really hot days. Just have to plan your oven use for morning, night, and cooler days. We did find that the fan will shut off faster if you leave the oven door open a little bit after shutting off the oven. Nice little thing to know if you have company and an eat in kitchen.
It does have a self clean, but we have not used that yet. Bottom of oven has a cover over the heating elements, so that is easy to wipe clean when you have a minor spill. Only had it a year, but seems to be working very well for us. If it did not have the fan thing, it probably would be a 5 star.

Perfect replacement

This oven replaced a 40 year old GE and has proven to be a good decision. Even heating, simple and intuitive to use. I like the low power broil feature and the additional coils in the broiler.

I have owned GE ovens and cooktops for over 40 years. They look great and give excellent performance. I can't imagine wanting anything else!

Just purchased and installed this, replacing our 26 yr. old GE oven. Really like the appearance, black against the golden oak cabinets. Seems to take a while to reach selected cooking temp. but probably do most other ovens. Plenty of interior cooking space. So far, so good.............
