GOOD LOOKING UNIT

GREAT REPLACEMENT FOR AN OLDER UNIT. MAKE SURE THAT IT WILL FIT AND IF YOU HAVE A COOKTOP ABOVE THIS UNIT CHECK TO MAKE SURE YOUR GAS LINE AND ELECTRICAL CONNECTION WILL NOT INTERFERE. OLDER UNITS DID NOT TAKE UP AS MUCH SPACE IN THE BACK SO YOU MAY HAVE TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS. THE FRONT CONTROL PANEL IS NOT FLUSH WITH THE MOUNTING FLANGE SO IT WILL PROTRUDE SLIGHTLY FROM THE CABINET.

Great oven! Every temperature setting is right on and holds the temperature throughout the cooking time baking evenly. Love the proofing and warm feature. And it's nice looking!

Excellent Basic Features

We have had this oven about a month and have been very pleased with it so far. Beyond the excellent basic features it appears to be maintaining temperature very well. We like the fact the lower coil is covered and the racks are enamel. Much easier to wipe out when necessary.

Slow to Preheat - Constant Clicking when heating

I purchaed the GE appliance to replace a 17 year old appliance from the first owners of the home I know live in. Did not want to have to do a lot of additional installation work. The replacement fit in the space nicely. I was expecting an upgrade from a 17 year old replacement and from my first week, I am a bit disappointed with the oven. It takes 2-3 times longer to preheat than my previous one. Testing the temperature to 450 degrees takes approx 10 minutes. During the heat up process it continues to "click" when it hits temps, but there is no consistency on when it will click. The first thing that we cooked, we slightly burned but I am guessing that is the difference in the two ovens and will take some time to get used to it. Honestly if I knew the two issues prior. I would not purchase. One benefit we have noticed from the 17 year old GE was that when cooling it was much quieter, but we have yet to activate the fan and we will see if that is better or worse.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
