For anyone who really loves history, this movie is an interesting choice. Set right after WWI and before WWII, this movie brings into perspective what was going on in Germany to lead them into war. At the same time, the story focuses on Ed and Al and ties up the story of the Fullmetal Alchemist nicely. Not really a movie for anyone who hasn't seen the end of the FMA series, since it picks up after the end and might be a bit confusing, unless you haven't seen any of FMA. But then other concepts might be confusing. On the whole, a really great movie which fits the series well. Comes with a lovely booklet of notes, both historical and fitting the context of the movie to the series. If you collect the series, a definite must have.

Fullmetal Alchemist: The Conqueror of Shamballa provides perfect closure to what many, including me, hail as the best anime series of all time.
If your interested in this dvd, make sure you watch the entire series first, otherwise it won't make much sense. The animation is flawless as is the voice acting. The ending...well, I won't give it away, but its a great ending.
As for this specific collectors edition...if your a fan of FMA, then you want this edition. With a book full of drawings and concepts, a case that has a very prestige feel to it, and chockfull of extras, you need to have this edition.

The story picks up after the anime ends and rotates around Edward and our wrold during the second world war. It tells of how Ed adapts to our world of no alchemy and his belifes that he will meet his brother again. Al in their world has become much like his brother even down to the way he looks except height. Things start to go wrong when Hitler's wrokers start to try to go to another world and bring more power to him. As you could of guessed the other world is Ed's home and it starts to break holes in it as the 2 worlds break at times. Ed keeps tring to go to Al and he does the same and they do but at the cost of the Gate being held open and the brothers are together again and now have to fight the new threat to their world, thanks to Hitler's workers and thats all I'm saying for now. Its a really good movie end to a really good anime
What's great about it: its really good and I would love to be in their world

Worth the money to buy Fullmetal Alchemist movie that was shown in very few theaters and left too soon. It has plenty of twist and turns. It has the proper humor in the right times. Great scenes that a fan of the series would want to see. It would be wise to see the series before watching this movie. It would make enjoying it more satisfying if you did. Grab some popcorn and soda then enjoy! I know I did...
What's great about it: It ties up all of the loose ends from the series...
What's not so great: A sequel might not come because of (see above)

This was not a DVD. I ordered it online because it said Format: DVD not Format: Blueray and when i got to the store they had a blueray waiting. They then said that it was bestbuy.com's fault and that they don't carry this DVD so I would have ot wait 8 days without getting it for it to default and not be on my debit card.

Fullmetal Alchemist: The Conqueror of Shamballa is the perfect ending to the Fullmetal Alchemest story. The movie begins where the Fullmetal Alchemist series leaves off and answers each buring question that left fans empty and wanting more. Do Edward and Alphonse Elrich ever find one another again? Does Alphonse regain his memory? Where does Winrey go from here? And what about the boys father? This movie answers those questions and pulls the viewer into two worlds that are drastically different, but both have one common goal. This particular Special Edition DVD set includes a beatifully illustrated fold-out box, collectible artwork from the movie which are suitable for framing and a bonus disc that is full of voice-over actor interviews and much more. This DVD set is a must have for all anime and Fullmetal Alchemist fans.

As far as the quality and price of the blu-ray goes, it's great. The movie itself isn't my favorite, but it's necessary to wrap up the original run of Fullmetal Alchemist. Do yourself a favor and watch Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood if you liked this, it's better in every way.
