easy setup / awesome scanning

Setup couldn't have been much easier. I followed the directions to remove the plastic shipping-parts. Removed all of the shipping tape. Plugged it in, installed the ink tanks and the ethernet cable - windows 10 saw it right away. Installed the programs/drivers from the CD - necessary for the scanner to work right. installed the cannon print services on my android smart phone - it all just plain works!

Great product overall -but frustrating deal breake

This unit is inexpensive and works very very well. However, it has a MAJOR design flaw. It will not scan to computer when it is out of ink. So this morning, need to scan! Out of ink! Not time to buy ink before my flight! Cannot scan! I feel like I should have a right to scan on a product I legally purchased for scanning and printing, even if I am out of ink and cannot print at the moment. This makes me very negative on the brand, and reluctant to buy a Canon as my next printer. Four stars otherwise.

SLOWEST first page print ever, over 5 mins to clean the ink head or waste link or whatever it does, less than 50 pages printed and the set of ink cartridges is depleted. This printer is a joke don't buy

Although this printer prints some of the nicest pages I've seen it goes through ink like a beast, at $$$$$$$ per cartridge. The original cartridges lasted a week at best. You do have to be careful with the on screen display since it says "your cartridge MAY be out of ink." That tries to trick you into thinking you need to replace it. When you DO replace a cartridge it never shows that the cartridge is FULL. I would probably spend more money for a better printer that uses cheaper cartridges.

I bought this to replace my older printer in hopes it would be very fast and save me money since I used to buy HP printers but the ink started costing too much. Now on this printer, Very hard to take out the ink to store it when I leave country for time periods and when I come back, ink disappeared and again over and over. The ink is not cheap and does not last very long. Now I am very unhappy with this product. Not to mention, at start, it connected to my computer easy. Now after a couple of Windows updates, it seems to be a pain in the butt now just to print one paper. I will now look for a replacement printer that the ink does not cost so much and dries up so fast. This printer is getting ready to hit ONLY one year and I am looking to replace it!!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Out of Ink controls all functionality.

This unit is unable to perform other functions when the printer is out of ink, an intentional flaw that is wasteful and frustrating. If you want to scan, a function that does not require ink, you will be unable to bypass the display error out of ink alert. I realize the product is relatively inexpensive, but it is frustrating when a person is needing to use other product features of a 4-in-1 printer and cannot.

Printer works as well as others... BUT....

The printer works well like many others and like the feature of the type of ink used to you can highlight without smears, BUT the ink doesn't last long. They should of included a feature of much larger black ink as my other printers it takes 8-12 months to use up and this one seems to go through it about every month and a half with the same amount of use.
