Not ready for prime time

I have owned many scanners both from Epson and other mfgs since the mid 90's and this is without a doubt the worst scanner I have ever owned. Not only is the scanner itself poor, scanning crooked pages etc., but the software is incredibly bad. It starts out thinking everything is on an 8.5 by 14 doc, and goes downhill from there.

Easy to use and produces high quality images when needed. I can scan a text document quickly and send as a small file, or scan a photo and still get high resoultion if I want it.

I love this scanner... It does so much faster than my inkjet scanner & a great price... I needed the double-sided scanning & so easy to just run it through & flip it over & click scan again... I am on a roll now... Thank you Epson!

I have used this model for many years. I scan documents into in 6 days a week, 20 or 30 times a day. It has replaced mailing invoices totally.
I have solved the problem of space for file boxes by scanning folders with it at the end of the year and string that. It runs as well today as the day I bought it.

LOVE this scanner!!!

I really love this scanner!! It has made my life so much easier.
I have always used my all-in-one unit to scan occasional documents and photos, but all of a sudden I found myself with alot of documents that I needed to scan (and quite a few are legal-sized -- its ADF easliy scans legal-sized docs).
I started looking online and reading reviews from CNET, PC Magazine, etc to see if I could find an affordable scanner that would easily do what I wanted done. This scanner was one of my final 2 options, and when I was able to find it locally, I bought it.
It was extremely easy to set up and install. After I started using it, I began to wish that I had bought it sooner --- instead of always struggling with my all-in-one's scanner. Some of the docs that I'm scanning are very old and their print is almost unreadable. This scanner is able to make them readable again, and saved for future generations.
You can scan docs as pdfs and jpegs, in black and white or color. You can easliy change the scanner's settings for the size of the docs you are scanning, the scanning features you want to use, and a doc's title.
THIS IS A GREAT SCANNER --- easy to use, with lots of features/options at an affordable price.
I just wish that I had bought it sooner.
I'm looking forward to when I have the time to
use this scanner to scan all of my old phots into my computer. I've already scanned in a few photos, just to see if they would scan as well the docs that I'm in the process of scanning did. They did!!

No access to configuration

The problem is not being able to designate where to store the scanned image when using the Email function. The scanned image is stored as a HIDDEN system file. Why can't we designate where it is stored????
We can designate where to save a normal scan. Why doesn't the Email function use the same designated location???
Other than that it seems to work OK.

Epson WorkForce GT-1500 Document Scanner

This machine is easy to use, but it the automatic feeder mechanism does not work well. I had sent the first one back when it became difficult to feed pages. The new one worked for a few weeks, but eventually developed the same problem. It also has a somewhat large footprint to use on a desk, so I have to keep it on a high shelf which is not covenient.

Was up and runing with this scanner in 30 minutes. the hardest thing about this product was having the patience to wait for the software to load. Once plugged in and connected, the computer recognized it and started the process to scan. The computer interface for using the scanner is very intitutive and powerful for placing documents in the correct place on your computer. Feeder is very fast and scanner allows you to review your documents before saving. excellent product for becoming a paperless office. Making less paper copies and saving more digital images. Highly recommend for people trying to eliminate paper.
