I Love my Epson Workforce GT-1500, so simple to use and very fast! I would get so frustrated try to use an all-in-one scanner trying to get the file into a pdf format. With this scanner you just push the pdf button, tell it what dpi to use and what to call the file.
I would recommend this to a friend!

My limited experience

First off, I bought the Epson scanner because I have two great Epson printers. Everyone has a scanner and the fax is almost obsolete. So, I needed a scanner and based on my experience with my Epson printers I bought the Epson GT-1500.
My experience with set up was good. No real problems. The instructions leave a lot to be desired. Step three Connect and turn on has a confusing direction..."#3 Do not connect the USB cable yet." There is no followup to tell you when to connect the USB cable and you go to step 4 which is scan a document. Logically it follows that you have to be connected to the computer but if I'd followed the instructions to the letter, I would never have achieved a scan.
If you want to scan one page, I recommend you not use the document feeder. The document feeder works on multiple pages. It takes some practice and you have to pay attention to the paper feeder. I put in 20 pages and it fed 16, then I had to feed the remaining 4 separately.
I'll need to study the guide and practice with the machine. Like anything related to computers it requires patience.
Epson kept asking me for an evaluation so I'm giving it. The quality of the output seems good and it is relatively easy to use. I would prefer better written instructions.
Would I recommend it to a friend? Depends on the friend. Until I have more experience with the GT-1500, I don't think I would.

Epson 1500

Very pleased so far. Took about 15 minutes to get going. Had to add a driver from Epson site to handle windows 7. No jams so far. I dont use the push buttons. The computer screen can bypass the buttons. It is actually faster than 20 ppm. It looks good on my desk!

Had this working in an hour after I received it. Works as Advertised although you do have to take notice of the little things that make it work. Sooooooooooo much faster than my old 25 year old scanner. And the mult Sheet feeder works just fine though don't put 40 papers in it at a time or it will jam most of the time. 20 sheets at a time works fine

Great with Acrobat

I am using this scanner with Adobe Acrobat Professional and it works great. Especially for 2-sided originals, this scanner will save me lots of time compared to the flat-bed scanner that it replaced.

Lovin' this GT1500 scanner

Received the scanner shortly past noon today and by early evening had scanned in more than three hundred pages! No errors, no jams, no problems of any kind. Made one brief call to tech support to answer a question not answered in the User Manual or on the Start Page, and it was handled very professionally. Thanks to one and all!!

Fantastic scanner.
After selling my first one and moving overseas, I've bought another one. Can't live without it.
Great for scanning documents for work and personal.

Epson GT 1500

So far the scanner works great. My only problem is that the USB cord isn't nearly long enough. Using the cord provided I have to lose valuable desktop space, instead of using the stand beside my desk. Any was to get a longer USB cord?
