The scans of 35 mm slides are spectacular, ONCE I downloaded several drivers and utilities. I would think that you would keep the units that are being shipped out in 2015 a little more up to date than having to go back to 2013 to download essential parts for the scanner. Very frustrating. That being said, the scanner is top notch and I'm happy with my purchase. If the need arises I will purchase Epson products again.

The scanner, works as it should. The scans can be adjusted for resolution, so you can get bigger or smaller files. I bought it for scanning color and bw negatives. For that it works fine, although it is suppose to separate the pictures (in case there are 3/4 pics on a 35mm neg.). Sometimes you have to separate them manually. The photo program that is packaged with the scanner is fine; i thought i might have to use my Adobe Photoshop, but the smaller program does all that i have to do.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good versatile scanner

The quality of the pictures are good for a scanner at this price. Set up is easy. Does a great job with photos and slides. The ease of use makes scanning a breeze. The software is easy to use and the scan times are pretty fast. I scan a lot of artwork/illustrations (I teach college art classes), and the results are very good. Color settings (all settings) are very easy to use.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Epson V600 Scanner

I have now had this scanner for three full years, and can find nothing but good things to say about it. Unquestionably, it is the best scanner on the planet for this price, exceeded only by the Epson V750 at more than twice the price.
As my previous scanner could not convert negative and slides, I purchased the V600 mainly to convert old black and white negatives and to create digital images of my 50 to 60 year old Kodachrome slides before they fade.
I wish the plastic carriers were a bit sturdier, but can find no other fault with this unit.
I would recommend this to a friend!

So far I have only scanned about sixteen 35mm b&w negatives - but they look terrific scanned in at 3200 dpi. Very crisp and clear. The unit exceeds my expectations. These shots were originally taken nearly 50 years ago. Wow. How cool!

Really Decent Photo Scanner

I purchased the V600 Photo Scanner mainly to accommodate scanning my old 35mm slides into my computer for the possibility of converting some of these old slides into real printable photos.
I've scanned a couple of hundred slides so far, with several hundred more to go, and I'm very pleased with the ease of use. You can scan up to 4 slides at a time, preview them individually, and then save them to a specified folder on your computer. In addition, before saving the scans, they can individually be adjusted for brightness and contrast. I found this to be a very nice feature for some of the those pictures that were taken in the not so ideal lighting situation.
I didn't find the scanning times to be quite as fast as advertised, but this is minor considering the real time spent is loading and unloading the slide tray to do the scans. It would have been nice if Epson could have developed a way to scan more than just 4 slides at a time.
Overall I feel my money was well spent. Thanks Epson!

Too Much Cost for Too Few Features

Has a large bed but cannot scan large negatives. Trying to handle slides in and out is miserable. The software is not intuitive or logical

Purchased, followed install instructions on two computers does nothing but flashing error light, can't get online or phone support. Phone support until 4:00 pm. not on weekends,
