NO APPLE SUPPORT

After 5+ years Epson still will not write software/firmware for Apple Mac. If you want epson scanners, seach first for Hamrick software so your scanner does what it is supposed to do.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

1st day I had it would not finish the scan, kept crashing Epson is going to mail me a replacement,I hope there are no issues.any problems my reference number 120 630 001 051 so far I am not happy.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This scanner was purchased to replace an older model from Canon, which I thought had served me well. Scans from this scanner of the exact same negatives soon showed me that I could get much more detail and sharpness from my old negatives than I had been getting.
I have only used this scanner for documents and 120 film negative scans and it works very well for both.
Primary reason for choosing this scanner was fellow photographers comments, price and my complete satisfaction with 2 separate Epson printers.
Overall, very pleased with this purchase.

Have over 3,000 color slides that I want to put on
my computer for my kids (4) to have.
I know they'll never use my old slide projector to
view these great family & travel pictures,so now
I have a "bucket list" project..
I have only transfered about 200 pictures,but it has
been interesting & fun!!!
I have made a few into photo pictures & sent them
to my kids with their Christmas cards.. All were
surprised,and very thankful..
I know doing only four at a time makes this a
major project,but I hope to get really into it after
the holidays.. The V600 works great & I am very
happy with the results !!!

Slides

Installing the software was a breeze. Scanning four slides at once takes about four minutes, not bad. I have scanned 160 slides over a couple of afternoons. The scan results were outstanding. I found scaning slides using the scan insted of Adobe was faster. I have not scanned anything other than slides so far. Would have given 5 stars if a op manual were supplied.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It would be nice if a detail manual of the scanner and software came with the equipment. The software version is so simple, it is insulting.
The "slide" holders does not fit 35mm slides.
Photoshop software is the same way.
If you are like me, and do not have any exerience with scanners or photoshop software.
Keep on looking for something you can use when you drop the money, and open the box.
This is not it.
The scans are great. But you can not pick what folder to place your scan in.
If you need to learn how to use this, find something else.

I'm a stereo photographer and bought this so I could digitize my vast collection of Stereo Realist slides and View Master reels. None of your plastic frames were designed for these formats. A shame because I think this machine could do the job, but I need much help adapting it to my needs.
I got a few files but had them sent to our OSPS club president and another member in order to get images I could work with on the free software Stereo Photo Maker.
