I imagine this is a good scanner, but you need to take courses in order to use it. The instructions of usage are going in circle. I purchased it in order to scan old pictures and documents for eventual book. I tried to scan a photo that already is on my PC; well, the scanner says "file already exists>" Does that mean that I can not scan varity of same picture? Who makes the decision or the scanner? I can not have the scanner image on my Scanners and Cameras in Control Pannel. Why? I am still reading instruction. I would appreciate any suggestions any one has for me.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

About six weeks after I bought it, I finally plugged it it. Tested it with one piece of paper. It seems to work, which is surprising, since I gave up on my previous Epson scanner because Epson wouldn't support it on a current iMac.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have os x lion, and I don't like the way it downloads to my computer. It leaves me hanging? no icon on the screen to launch it? Don't know how much to download, don't want to end up with stuff I won't use. Trying to find out how it interacts with Lion but it is buried in files. So I haven't really used it yet just got it out of the box.

Best Printer Yet

What doesn't it do quickly, efficiently, in "living color"? This printer is the best one I have owned. Epson produces the highest quality printers on the market, and this is certainly one of the top in their line. It is fast so that little is spent waiting for prints. Color is accurate and vivid. Detail is excellent.

Outstanding features, especially in fill automatic mode

I have used this scanner to scan over 3,500 pages of photographs and slides and the results have been consistently outstanding. I have been copying and saving both copies and jpg files of family photographs of my wife's late Mother to share with my wife's two sisters and other family members, who are happy and grateful that they now have these memories to enjoy!
