Nice & affordable Scanner

The V600 is affordable, small in size, but with a larger transparency unit as usual. Scanning is really quick without any warmup phase due to its LED light source.
I tested the device scanning different formats. The included film holders are very handy therefore.

Using Epson's scanning software I was quite confident with slide scanning, print scanning and with scanning b/w negatives. But I couldn't manage to scan color negatives in a satisfying and predictable way. The Epson Scan software is in general just barely functional. I'm using third-party scanner software SilverFast and with its NegaFix (just one of many, many useful features) the color neg problem is solved.
I do recommend the V600, but run it with SilverFast for unveiling the real potential of this device.

Affordable scanner/great results

Great scanner. Intuitive and extremely easy to use - I was scanning slides within minutes after the software had finished loading. Results are great.

This is my fourth Epson scanner and my favorite to date. I do photo restoration and the quality I'm able to achieve, especially from old negatives still surprises me.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I purchased my V600 scanner directly from Epson and I have no regrets. I set it up, ran the software on my XP computer, hooked up the scanner, and began scanning some old 120 black & white negatives. For my family purposes, the scans at 1200dpi in "pro" mode are perfect. I have scanned about 300 negatives so far, with no scanning problems. Someday, I'll read the on-line instructions, but right now, I'm having too much fun reviving old family photographs not seen in years! Maybe soon, Epson will develop an attachment and software to scan 8mm movie film that is too curled to run through a projector, but can still be scanned. The potential market is enormous, now that baby boomers are finding their parent's 8mm films ruined by time! Great product! Very satisfied!

Although I have not gotten to use the V600 a lot for film yet, I am impressed so far with its speed and resolution. I am not impressed with the Digital Ice, which doesn't seem to do a good job at cleaning the image. Most of that, however, can be done in post-processing. The new multiple-window software is a little quirkier than the old Epson panel and will take some getting used to, but it will do the job. Overall, I am pleased.

I am pleasantly surprised with the Perfedtion V600. With it's ease of use, speed and high quality scans. Colors are vivid and sharp. Black and white are crisp.

Great scanner

I purchased the V600 because I have been looking for a scanner that would enable me to scan old negatives from the family. The V600 does an excellent job on 35mm, slides, but especially medium sized negatives. To date I have scanned in about 600 medium size negatives of all sizes 2.5 x2.5, 2.5 x 3.5, 2.5 x 4.5 also smaller negatives 1.75 x 1.75 that can be placed inside the holder, lining them up straight was the only problem. Overall I say this is a great scanner, does the job well and I would recommend it to a friend.
