I bought this a little over 2 years and this is the first time that I have hooked it up so I have not used it but I am about to do so.

I bought this because of the old family negatives I want to see. I am looking forward to getting started. Have always liked other Epson products I have owned.

Nice & affordable Scanner

The V600 is affordable, small in size, but with a larger transparency unit as usual. Scanning is really quick without any warmup phase due to its LED light source.
I tested the device scanning different formats. The included film holders are very handy therefore.

Using Epson's scanning software I was quite confident with slide scanning, print scanning and with scanning b/w negatives. But I couldn't manage to scan color negatives in a satisfying and predictable way. The Epson Scan software is in general just barely functional. I'm using third-party scanner software SilverFast and with its NegaFix (just one of many, many useful features) the color neg problem is solved.
I do recommend the V600, but run it with SilverFast for unveiling the real potential of this device.
