Excellent scanner. Easy set-up. Good performance; better then what I had to use while working for a large photo retailer. Only drawback: no printed manual. The on-line one is good but call me old fashioned I'd still like a hard copy of the manual.

I would highly recommend the V600 Epson photo scanner. It is quite easy to use for me as a beginner scanner. It can be quite addictive actually. I am scanning old family photos and it is great to see slides finally on a screen instead of just holding them up to the light to see them. I am now making CD's for other family members in case a fire was to destroy all the photos we have that are in one household. Now there will be copies dispersed to other areas for safe keeping. AAAA+++++!!!!

I just received my V600 scanner. It was easy to set up and took little time to start using. The quality of the images was very good. I scanned some pictures dating back to the early 1900's and was pleased with the results. This scanner replaces an older Epson I had for 10 years. I am very happy with my choice of the V600

I've used this product for about two weeks now scanning important documents that I plan on getting rid of. Allow me to elaborate on several important attributes of a scanner (especially for me), and how this scanner stands (IMO):
Scan quality - really amazing. It may take awhile, but the V600 can put out some pretty impressive quality/resolution images.
Scan speed - Since I have a number of documents that I wanted to scan, this was pretty important to me... and I must say that I wasn't disappointed by the amount of time it takes to get the resolution/quality that I was looking for.
Scanner software (Usability) - Meh. It gets the job done. Although the scanner software could stand to be improved, I am very happy that Adobe Photoshop was included in my V600 package. I haven't tinkered with Photoshop yet extensively, but I am pretty sure it was a wise investment.
Best regards.

I ordered the EPSON V600 scanner to improve my capability to scan slides, negatives and 35mm/medium-format film images at higher resolution and utilize the benefits of Digital ICE Technology software. Since purchasing and setting up this scanner I have used it extensively in all modes and it has consistently, reliably and flawlessly produced results I have been able to edit and save with a lot less effort than with older scanning equipment. Also of note is the easy set-up routine and a lot less time sitting idle with the nearly instantaneous operation of the unit without a warmup period making the entire process of loading, previewing, editing and scanning a real pleasure!
