I really haven't had it long enough to put it thru all it paces. But it does a good job of scanning slides, which is the main reason I bought it. One does need to make sure the slides are clean though....dust particles show up very well. I still haven't figured out how to scan to a folder and the guide hasn't been any help. It is a quality piece of equipment and mostly user friendly.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Works great - easy to use. I think the price was good. The only problem I have is scanning mounted 2 1/4 (6X6) slides. The frame is designed for film and the part that holds the film down does not seem to be removable from the frame.. I can work around it but it is a slight problem.

Scanner was purchased to replace a Konica/Minolta slide/film scanner no longer supported by Apple, with Lion OS. Since I still have several thousand slides to be scanned, this looked like a good product. It does a great job, was installed easily. It is a little faster than my old scanner, still requires about 3 minutes to scan 4 slides. The slide holder seems a little flimsy and you have to be careful not to smear the glass of the scanner when removing the slides.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Based on the reviews by "Magazine Guy" and "DR McKenzie," I went straight to "Professional Mode" and started working on 50 year old color slides. Just playing with the controls in that mode, I am finding out how to do amazing things. The pictures look better than when the slides were new. I haven't tried black and white, yet but I am assuming it will be as good.
I am wondering if I can use it for some "off spec" operations, like dealing with old 110 film, and a few other odd sizes. I hope so, and if I can, I will be truly astounded.

So far very good. scanned a 30 year old slide and retouched on adobe Elements 9 (which I already use), very good results. Looking forward to redoing old slides for another book with blurb.

Just started using the V600. So far it is good. Install was easy and went without any issues.
Have scanned a few photos results are good.
Next step is to try the slide and negative scans.
