I had an Epson 1650 that was very easy to use, but no driver was available for Windows 7. The V600 is complicated to use and does not allow scanning directly to other programs as did the 1650. A very distinct downgrade on user friendly operation and functionality.

I have a lot of B&W negatives and have been using my camera to copy them to digital and printing them to hard copy. The Epson scanner is so much easier, faster and gives a true reproduction of the subject matter. I am sold on this piece of equipment and will use it and save the camera for other things. Thanks Epson.

The Epson V600 scanner provided all that was promised. Really impressed with quality of output.
I even created a 4x5 holder and scanned from each side of the image and stitched the two scanned images in photoshop to re-create decade old film of fantastic quality. Now my old 4x5 and 5x7 film can live again.

After a little trouble with installation, I am very happy with purchase and the quality of the scan. As an artist, the resolution is very important and this scanner is by far better than my previous scanner. I have not yet put it through all its jumps, but what I have seen so far, I am thrilled.

Just what I was looking for

Wanted to digitize a several thousand slides I have but was reluctant to purchase a dedicated slide copier. After all, when you are done with your slides you don't need it anymore. The V600 does it all - makes great copies from photos, negatives and slides with very little corrected, if any needed, after the scan. No more searching for the "right" 35mm slide copier - this is it!

V600 Photo Scanner

I have been using this scanner for almost a year and love it. Since I purchased it, I have scanned over 5,000 photographs, slides and negatives. Other than the fact that I have to load the pictures manually into the scanner (which you have to do in almost all of them) it is simple to use. I do have one complaint though and that is the fact the scanner does NOT have a carriage to hold 110 photo negatives for scanning. That is one drawback I am trying to solve as I have over 500 strips of 110 negatives to scan.
