Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner

A great scanner. The only problem I have is with MAC OS 10.8 I can only access the scanner through the System Preference-printers. I have a drum scanner and the Epson does a better job up to 120.

The Epson V600 scanner is great. My original purpose was to have a tool that I could use to digitize all of my old military records and awards. The ease of creating multiple page PDF files made my task easy. It is also a snap to digitize photos and slides. All the user has to do is push a button on front of the device and then be prepared to manage all of your important life documents and pictures. A great tool to use to pass your memories down to future generations.

This is the best scanner I found within the price range. I use it in a museum setting for scanning vintage photos to be intered into a digital database. It meets our current requirements for scanning photos in color, B&W (grayscale) and text documents.

Loved it when I first received it and started using it. I've been scanning all of my boxes of family pictures. I had it about a month now, and last time I used it started getting errors. A particular picture wouldn't scan properly (it was attempting to scan portrait when it was a landscape). Finally scanned a number of other pictures, then it worked. Soon after I got an out of memory error, and just kept dinking around and finally got it working again.
Also wish it had actually come with instructions about what all the settings.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Epson V600

In June 2012 I searched multiple vendors for a photographic slide scanner since I have a very large collections of slides. I found that the Epson V600 was what I was looking for. I then read all reviews available at that time for the V600 and then ordered the scanner.
I received the V600 and found setting it up was not a problem. The size is perfect for my computer desk along with my Epson NX430 printer.
Due to medical problems I was not able to start using the V600 for a few months. When I started using I found that the time scanning slides, negatives and prints was acceptable. I also found that the quality of some of my older prints were better after scanning then the prints themself.
I have also used the V600 to scan prints and documents from textbooks to assist my daughter with her college courses.
I am very pleased with the scanner and its’ performance.
