Pretty decent scanner

Works with Vista - that was the most important feature for me.
Makes nice scans, creates PDF's, and more.
Does everything I want it to do.
No complaints.
Nice that it can be turned off, too.

Limitations with this Scanner

I had been using an Epson Perfetion 1650 fpr several years with a Windows XP machine and when I went to use it on a newer Windows 7 machine there were no drivers from Epson that would work and I was forced to buy this newer scanner which is OK, but the interface software does not have the easy features of the older machine. For example with the 1650 I could easily change the amount of reduction or magnification and I canot find the same feature with the V600. The V600 also has a poorer operating manual. The scans that I have done with the V600 are certainly OK, but I cannot determine if they are any better than with the older 1650. Is there a test that would make a comparison? I believe that Epson has the obligation to update its drivers when newer opeating systems. This would not be hard, but forcing us to buy the newest model scanner is not good business in the long run..

V600 photo scanner

I have used this extensively and am well pleased with it. It is slow to use with the higher resolutions, but I think all similar products are slow at the higher settings. I highly recommend this product.

I have scanned more than a thousand slides for family members. Very easy. So nice to know they are saved forever.

Great scanner, BUT bad glitch

Scanner and driver work well in Photoshop in a 32bit Windows Ultimate 7 HOWEVER!! Using The scanner in a 64bit system does not work with Photoshop [including the recommended driver(s) on Epson's web site] As much as I can determine from Adobe. Photoshop is looking for a TWAIN driver. The WIA option is clumsy and wont support transparencies.

I don't like buying those all in one printers, All you get is mediocre printing, scanning, etc.
This Epson V600 is the best scanner I have owned to date & it is my 3rd scanner. I highly recommend it !

I bought this scanner to do old photos and larger negatives. It works great and scans beautifully. I had no problems getting it to work with my MAC. It is a great workhorse.

Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner Review

This has been a great scanner and the price is right. I have had no problems with it since purchasing it a few years ago. I have had good luck scanning negatives and old slides, but a flatbed scanner is not as good as a dedicated film scanner. It is for that reason that I gave it a 4 star rating and I feel that it could more intuitive.
