Have only used it on Slides so far, but it work very well and easy. More than paid to have someone else do it. A little slow, but I have the time and not bad once in the rhythm.

I bought this to replace my 9 year old Epson Perfection 4490 Perfection scanner which had a mechanical problem after 1000's of scans. The V600 was compatible with the latest version of W10 and setup was a snap. Epson rocks!!

I have had a lot of different brands of scanners and printers and I still return to Epson because it is simply the best and easiest to work with. Most reliable too. This one can scan medium format negs.. and I am sooooooo excited about that.

Overall Satisfied

Scanning negatives is so much more time efficient and useful for archiving images than darkroom room. The V700 is a good tool for this purpose, and a factory refurb makes it a cost-effective way to do it. My only negative comment is that there is a small amount of dust on the underside of the glass where I can't clean it. If I were scanning to make display prints, that would have to be fixed.

I installed the scanner into my laptop the first time I used it and had a hard time using it but it finally worked for 2 days. Then I went to use it about 2 weeks later and it continuously stated it wanted an administrator password which there wasn't any, then it stated it was not connected properly which it was and then it blamed the internet for not working which it was. I then reinstalled the file which did not work so trying again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have thousands of slides that need to be scanned into my computer, and after some market research I chose the Epson V600 as the best performance for the price. The scanner is very versatile as to the desired quality vs. time to scan, and has some powerful software to correct picture quality before the scan is done. I have made good use of the Color Restoration for old orangy slides, backlight correction, and the ICE dust removal. I use the Home mode and Professional mode for most of my scanning. See the other product reviews for hints on how to best do the scanning.

I bought this scanner to scan some old 6 X 9 Fujifilm Velvia 50 ISO transparencies. I have scanned them at 4,800ddDPI and saved as TIF files. The results have been excellent! The only "negative" comment I have is: I wish the film holders were more sturdy.
