The scans are phenomenal. I use it for film, photos, and for archiving things I find interesting. What I really wish Epson Scan 2 had was the ability to choose my out pixel size and inches for print output. Working with only DPI can get frustrating.

Nice scanner, but slow

Purchased this scanner to digitize a bunch of very old negatives. Had to purchase additional film holders from Negative Solutions. Software is OK, but sometimes a challenge. Very time consuming to scan negatives. Can preview multiple negatives, but then have to scan each one individually. With larger negatives, the Epson software split negative into 3 separate images. VueScan software is easier to use with some of the odd size negatives. A limited version of SilverFast software is available with purchase of the scanner, but this package was difficult to use. I would recommend this scanner with reservations. I would not use it for documents as it is too slow.

Poor Software

The scanner seems to work well but the software is mediocre. The auto correct features lack a great deal making each restoration a chore. Also the size, fonts and selection box sizes are very small. I will most likely return this unit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have been using my husband's Epson scanner for years and decided to get one of my own. This one is similar to his, but much faster and has more features (which I haven't used yet). Two things that are different - and are a problem for me - are the location of the on/off button (hard to find near the back) and the quick "drop" of the lid when closing it. I expect I'll get used to both.

Not clear how to get the best out of the product

I bought the unit in April 2020. Except for not understanding how the special features are supposed to work, it appeared to be meeting my needs. I'm scanning approximately 4000 slides. Tonight I ran into a problem that I cant resolve. The preview slide shows the correct colors but when the scan is sent to file it is very red toned
