Great scanner and simple to setup and use

Have used it mostly for scanning negatives and slides. A little slow for the slides but quality is worth the wait. Took me a few minutes to understand the scanning process for negatives. Easy to scan multiple photos in one scan. Overall very happy with the product.

Bad quality control

I have tried these twice, both times they had dirt or something on the underside of the scanner glass. They seem to work ok except the first one put a red stripe down the picture (due to a dirt speck in that area) and the other one just had dirt on underside of glass and I avoided scanning in that area. I may try one last time as the scanner specks are very good. I would suggest that you make it easy to remove and clean the glass.

Decent scanner

This is a decent scanner. I bought it to copy photographic film. For some reason, I was under the impression it could handle 4x5 negatives, but alas, it can only take as large as 120 format film. There are plastic trays that hold the film during scanning, but if the film is curved, it does not lay completely flat so there is a loss of quality in the scan. I tried to lay the negative between two pieces of glass but then the scanner would not work. There should be an override so that I can scan regardless. Otherwise, if the film is flat, it scans great and the software seems adequate.

Fast and functional

I've had the scanner about a week and a half. It is doing a good job. The software comes with a lot of features. I have not explored all of them yet. The manual, which is included on a disk is adequate to get you started but it would have been helpful to have some videos included. I learned more from trial and error and experimenting with different scan modes. My previous scanner was slower but I had scanned almost 20,000 images in the last year. This scanner is definitely much faster. I have scanned over 1000 images in the first week. This was a mix of slides, Film and prints. I like being able to scan more negatives at the same time than with previous scanners. I've found that, for me, Pictures scan better in home mode and film seems to scan better in full auto. I've used the professional mode a littel and it seems like it could be really good. The only concern I have is that the film tray seems a little flimsy.

I bought this a month ago and not happy The scans are slow very slow was much happier with my old HP scanner
