Not what I expected
on June 22, 2021

I bought this V600 scanner because of all the good reviews here and elsewhere, but it is not as I expected. I have a lot of old photos, slides and negatives to scan and many reviews talk about what a good job the V600 does. But has not been my experience. I can look at the slides through a viewer, and they are sharp and crystal clear. The scans however, are blurry and muddy compared to the original and the colors are off. I had the scanner for 10 months now, and I've played around with every setting, resolution, adjustment, and a couple of software programs, but the results are always the same; blurry and off. The scans from negatives and photos are really not much better either. When you're scanning photos, whether they be prints, negatives, or slides, you expect minimum quality to be that the scan is at least equal to the original in terms of clarity, sharpness, and color, before you start any enhancements. But no, despite all the reviews to the contrary, every scan from every medium is more blurry and less detailed than the original and the color is just not right. I'm very disappointed with this scanner.

This is my second V600 Photo Scanner

After 10 years of faithful service my first V600 finally died. Not because of any problem from Epson rather a lightning strike fried the machine. Bought a new scanner and new surge protector and on we go. The old machine get heavy use over the years for a home user and it never missed a beat.

High Quality. Feels solid and well made.
This is my first time scanning photos.
It's so easy, and the results are great. Most times better than the originals!!

I have owned this V600 Photo Scanner for about a month now and am extremely pleased. It is very well made. I scan both 35mm negatives and old photographs and I consider the results to be outstanding! However, as a someone who is technically challenged, I found the learning curve to bit harder than I thought. I do wish that the instructions had been written in simpler terms and in more detail. Once I got the basics down, I am very pleased! Being able to recover old photos and negatives that otherwise would have been lost makes it all worth while!

Total pc of garbage, combined with ZERO support. You can get a rep M thru F during a small window. They will have their script ready for you. Ofcourse asking the simplest of questions Did you power it on did you make sure the cable was plugged in securely and then after they've exhausted Those tough questions they are out of ideas.

Good but won't save file??
on June 6, 2011

After much research and intimidated by the number of 35mm negatives I want to digitze, I finally got started and had a great initial experience. Then I ran into a problem.
In full auto mode, sometimes after the scan I receive a pop that says "cannot save the file" after a negative frame. This happens even though sometimes the file has in fact been saved. When I click "OK" on the pop up the scan application shuts down.
I use Windows/7. Any ideas?

I am impressed

Bought the V600 about 2 weeks ago. I have scanned photos and films, some of which were 110 and 126 negatives, and was very pleased with the results. Using Professional Mode I removed the red cast and restored the colors on photos and film I thought were lost forever. Some damaged photos needed some cropping to get the colors back. The only improvements I can suggest are that the negative holder be more friendly, less flimsey, and include a section to hold smaller negatives.

Good but...

I like the scanner, it did a fine job with colors, and catching the text. It doesn't however scan to the edge. You have to move your object in 3 or 5mm. I would rather they have had some type of contact point there so I could align what I'm scanning at that location instead I have to use a ruler to place the photo that has an image to the edge.
If I knew for sure other scanners didn't have the problem I might return it. So I may be going shopping...
