Easy Windows 10 install
on January 17, 2017

I requested this scanner for Christmas after checking it out on line. When I received it I was worried it would not be Windows 10 compatible. I talked to customer support before unpacking it. Went to the Epson support website as instructed... followed the start-up instructions that came in the box, and the installation program on the website.... voila! It took less than 10 minutes and I was scanning beautiful photos! Thanks Rose...I am happy.

Haven't made a single scan, 40 hours trying to make it work

Let me save you time, where no technical trouble-shooting page on Epson's site will do so for you . . .
I bought this Epson V600 last week -- and it arrived 4 days ago.
My home computers are a MacBook Pro Retina running Sierra, and a Mac Mini running El Capitan.
MacBook Pro laptops no longer come with disc drives.
Therefore, customers like myself are forced to download the driver from Epson's site. Here's the site:
http://esupport.epson-europe.com/ProductHome.aspx?lng=en-IE&data=ntiBNCy6p2WGlrfTPm4LnsnypDhQR26j&tc=6
Doesn't work!
Trust me. No matter how many times you run it, this software install fails to run the scanner.
I almost returned the scanner, and I still may do so.
Luckily, the Mac Mini has a disc drive. The old-fashioned CD that came in the box actually invites a product registration.
The download of the driver from Epson's own site does not.
I am just finishing the registration process, and the marketing and community management geniuses invited me to post a review.
Here is my review. Let's see if I can scan a single slide. I may still return this machine.
It *is* cheap. And you get what you pay for.

I purchased this scanner a month ago. Love this scanner. I have been scanning old slides a lot of them from the late 50s. The software is fantastic was able to restore the photos back to new. Digital Ice is fantastic. I highly recommend this scanner

A great photo scanner

I first bought a slide only scanner, but returned it as it gave poor quality. I returned it and upgraded to the Epson V600. What a difference! Grat quality and versatility. Only difficulty is with larger older negatives which I had to improvise by placing it on the tray without the plastic border. A recommending to my friends.

Very Pleased - Works with Windows 10

Good value for the money. So far, used only for 35mm and 110 slides (mounted in 35mm mounts). I opted for this over less expensive converters as other reviews expressed dissatisfaction converters. Connected directly to my Windows 10 PC. Trouble communicating with the V600 at first. I downloaded a "fix" from the Epson website and/or rebooting the scanner establishes communication. Software easy to use. ICE software helps but blow the dust off each slide anyway.

great scanner for my old negatives

I bought it to scan my old 35mm negatives. The scans are pretty good, although I do have to change the colors for many of the scans and since many of the negatives are somewhat old, I have to remove scratches in the photoshop. The software with the scanner is not that great. Also, I like the professional setting where you can chose the resolution and which photo to scan.
You can put multiple 35mm negatives in the provided utility and the scanner does a pretty good job in separating each individual photo.
Overall, does a pretty good job. I would recommend to anyone who is scanning the old negatives for personal/home use.

I just received my scanner and set it up. My first scan was of a picture I painted on a canvas board with acrylic paint. I was amazed how bright it is. I also scanned an old photo and was amazed of how bright, vibrant the colors are and the clarity when photo is enlarged on computer screen. I cannot wait to scan the 2000+ photos I have.

Excellent photo scanner

So far I have used this scanner for slides and photos. Some of the slides were 50+ years old and were faded. Some also had dust that would not come off using a gentle microcloth and air brush. The scanner did an excellent job removing dust and restoring color. There were a few that I still had to bring into Photoshop, but overall the scanner did an excellent job. I do have an issue with Epson, though. I had an excellent Epson photo scanner that was almost as good as this scanner and had lots of used left in it. Epson quit updating its software after Windows XP so it became a huge paperweight. Yes, there is alternate software out there that will operate the scanner, and according to reviews does a good job. However, the cost of the software was over half the price of the V600 scanner. I opted for the new scanner which has some improved technology. In effect, Epson forces the user to buy a new scanner or buy after-market software that you hope will continue to do a good job with your equipment.
