Very simple and quick

What a nice machine. Load the software, plug it in, place a picture on the glass and press the scan button. It's fast and loads the picture into you computers picture library. I wish I had this long ago! Well done.

V600 Perfection scanner

Product does everything desired and for the purpose it was purchased. I have used a similar scanner at work that scans only prints but the one purchased for home use was the higher level V600 model that also scans negatives. The scanner worked perfectly straight out of the box which is not a usual occurrence with me and computer-related hardware. This was a concern of mine after reading some of the reviews and trouble that others were having with software issues. I've been able to scan 35mm color negatives taken over the past 30 years as well as larger format black & white negatives from my father's childhood 75 years ago. The scans have easily been able to be shared with family who have gotten a lot of enjoyment from them.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Scanner

After reading some of the previous reviews some good and some bad I decided to purchase the V600.
While running Windows 7 64 bit I did have to download the newest drivers, (I would have done that anyway) The Scanner worked perfectly. I was able to scan roughly 30 pictures in a very short period of time at the highest resolution. If you are looking for an affordable solution for all of your home pictures this is the one.

Mostly positive, some "needs work"

I bought this scanner to convert the best shots of fifty plus years of photography to begin to enjoy them again. I shot mostly 35mm and 6x6, b&w, color and chrome.
I am quite impressed with the image quality. A 35mm ektachrome slide will convert to a 40mp file. The supplied scanning software is straightforward and easy to use.
On the downside, the documentation is light and I am quite disappointed that the Photoshop Elements included is version 9, version 10 has been out for quite some time and is a better fit for Mac users. I did not try the other 3rd party software supplied as I am on Lion and didn't feel like experimenting until I have a need.

Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner

I quit using my old Epson 4490 scanner because it was no longer fully supported.
I purchased the V600 and I find it easy to use. The buttons on the front are really handy to place a scan into your e-mail or to use it as a copy machine by sending scans directly to the printer.
Set up was easy and everything worked right off.
The 600 is really fast with the led illumination. No waiting for warm up.

I bought this scanner to archive some of my old slides and negatives that I want to keep. It is doing a great job at capturing detail in both highlights and shadow areas and so far I am very pleased.

V600 Photo Scanner

Pros: Easy to set-up and use with Windows 7 64 bit system. Great results for documents, photo prints, and 35mm slides (some 70 years old). I have scanned over 3000 35mm slides. Speed, resolution and faithfulness to the original were excellent.
Cons: minor issues & annoyances only - slide tray just sits on the scanner glass rather than being locked in place (seems like a small design change could make this easier to use); scanner will sometimes start when cover is lifted (less than 1% of the time); & some slides have been rotated 90 degrees when scanned (yes, I did check the slides to insure that they were put in the correct orientation and it was the software that rotated the output).
I would recommend this to a friend!

Old Photos and Slides Restored

Great job scanning photos and slides. Used different scanning modes at various dpi and found reproduction was excellent. V600 is easy to use and flexible. Color restoration and dust removal was good to excellent. Thanks Epson.
