Simple, Fast, and Very Good!

I upgraded from an older scanner. Was I impressed. 300dpi is as quick as it can be. Easy to use. The color correction and dust removal that come in the basic software work perfectly.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best Scanner:
Easy to setup, Easy to use, Scanning is fast. Takes about 3 mintues to scan negatives and slides at 300 dpi setting.
Received order very quick.
Epson has to improve:
The scanning time for slides and negatives.
The design of slide and negative adopter.

I am cleaning out boxes of old 35mm slides. Can't believe what an easy job it is to scan the good ones to my computer. After I finish this addicting task, I will tackle the negatives.
All in all, I am very happy with my purchase. I just wish I could scan more than four slides at a time.

I have only had this for a month, but really enjoy the scanner. I have done some recent color pics, as well as some b/w from the 30s. They are all turning out great... I am very happy with this purchase...

Typical great Epson product

Fabulous scanner ! I scan about 300 images a week and have been able to tweek the software to where they scan in almost perfectly. I have not used the 35mm portion yet but expect the same results.
Machine has performed flawlessly.
I would like to see the "saved" sequence numbers to go to 4 or even 5 digits so I don't get repeating image numbers after 999 scans.
I would love one just like it in a 12x15 inch format that is affordable !
It is such a fine machine I expect Epson to quit making it soon.

Just Right

Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner was purchased for both photos and to capture images of my artwork. The scanner is large enough and flexible for use with flat photos and drawings, books and some 3 dimensional objects without any problems. It's compact (22"x11"x4" outside dimensions), easy to use and gives me fine, dense images. Scanning area is 9"x12" and sends a nice crisp image to my computer.
Only one drawback: directions for use are quite abbreviated. But it turns out to be pretty straightforward in use. I'm still happily discovering all it can do.

Price and Functionality

I purchased this scanner because I have a large inventory of negatives and I still shoot film on my Rollei TLR. I was spending a fortune getting small scans done just so I could see what I have and work with it before deciding whether to get a larger scan done. I am very pleased with the scanner's performance for this particular purpose. I was very nervous after my first scan of a 120 neg because it looked VERY soft. I did some research on what settings other users were employing during 120 scans and once I made those changes I got a much better result. The scanner excels at scanning prints and does a great job on 35mm even on very large scans. The medium format scanning is the only thing it falls a little short on but it definitely does what I bought it to do- make 120 neg scans that I can use to make editing decisions and on the web.

Great Scanner

So far I have used this scanner just for one thing - scanning dozens of strips of 35mm B&W negatives. I am extremely pleased with the experience. The Epson scanning software was very easy to use and gave me no problems. My only small criticism with the scanner is with the 35mm filmstrip holder - the cover for the strip is a little too flimsy and doesn't seem to clip down solidly on the strips at all the clip points. This didn't seem to affect the results however which were always excellent. I would also like to be able to purchase a second filmstrip holder as an accessory so that I could always have a loaded holder ready to go to speed up the scanning process. Everything else was great!
