Best Scanner Ever!

I purchased this scanner to scan old negatives and slides of my family. I was surprised that this scanner included a free copy of Adobe Elements 9. The scanner has selections for getting rid of dust particles and for restoring color. In a few cases, the slides were bad enough that the restoration of color made them look worse. But there were very few exceptions. Most were fantastic. I also scanned slides for my husbands family and restored the color. The family had them made in to a cd slide show and all enjoyed them and were amazed at the color. I would have a difficult time replacing this as it's performed beyond what I expected. The more "restoring" you choose, the longer it takes for the scan to process. I don't have the highest memory so I'm sure with a newer computer it would be faster. But it is well worth any wait to see the results!

Great for scanning old negatives to prints. Had a small issue with getting frame adjustment correct on some negatives. Overall has done a wonderful job so far, I have used it for about a week now.

Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner

I use this scanner to mainly convert Black and White negatives, color negatives and color positive film in to digital images.
I have small size film through 120 roll film and have also scanned strips through 4 x 5 in cut film when the image allows me to crop it in a panorama manner.
I was amazed at the ability of the color restoration ability to correct off color and faded Ektachrome slides. The Digital Ice works quite well to correct blemishes including removal of some hair and dust from the images.
I am very pleased with the ability. Only wish it could scan 4 inch wide film. That would allow me to work with 4x5 film on the scanner.

I bought this scanner when I knew I was going to be sorting a number of old photos from my family. The scanner seems to accurately reproduce the originals and I was quite happy with the results. I haven't yet tried scanning slides and negatives; that will come later.

I liked my old Epson scanner. When its time was over I bought a V600. It is fast and scans are high quality. Epson kept the same excellent scanning software. A great deal for the price. The free Photoshop elements that came with mine was a super bonus.

Software is extremely intuitive and easy to use. Scan quality is exceptional. I scan my pen and ink illustrations to create high quality .tiff files for prints and the detail is phenomenal.

My 3170 was good at scans but took a little time from start to scan. The V600 doesn't "warm up" and goes directly to scan, saving a couple of seconds. Images are very accurate and captures sharper. Will scan legal size (11x14) documents. One of the best single page scanners I've used.
