Exciting features!

This Scanner has the same features as it's 15 year old processor but with so many more features!
I am looking forward to cleaning up old slides and prints and improving some photos. I am hopeful it will last half as long as my previous one, that was only outdated by my change in operating system (4 generations of changes since I bought it!)
I would recommend this to a friend!

Did past scanning with my HP printer/scanner---a cumbersome, lengthy, and less than adequate procedure. Scans with HP were NOT true to color and it took forever. The Epsom machine scans quickly, with good results. Since I am still learning, what I would like to be able to do is edit a little bit more before scanning---I am either not smart enough to do that yet, or that is beyond it's limitations. Would definitely recommend this unit to an "amateur" scanner.

Epson Perfection V600 photo scanner

I have had the V600 for nearly two years and use it regularly, scanning images and then using those images in photoshop compositions. I've had nothing but excellent output from the scanner. Also used it with slides and negatives getting excellent results!

Fast and efficient scanner - documents and photos and slides

I bought this scanner to scan over 10,000 slides I've amassed since the 60's (1960). Being an avid photographer, most of my work was made in slide material (a lost art), but I needed to modernize and convert those to digital. Epson's Perfection V600 made easy work of the conversion and added some element of restoration of color and removal of dust and streaks. Overall, I am happy and impressed with the quality of build and efficiency of scanning. Everything I needed was included.

What could be better...

When scanning 35mm slides, it is hard to pick them up off the glass afterward without getting fingerprints on the glass. It would be better if they could be loaded into the holder before inserting it, and removed from the holder rather than lifted off the glass.

After researching scanners and reading reviews I decided on the Perfection V600 and purchased one just over a month ago and although I have only used the Full Auto Mode thus far, I have scanned over 400 30+ year old slides with incredible results. This is so easy to use (and I am a beginner) that I was scanning slides within 30 minutes of opening the box and the files were clean and clear and the color was very good. One day, I may even experiment with the other modes and with the Photo Studio 6 software included. I hope this scanner lasts a good, long while because I have many more slides, negatives and photos to scan.

Does a Lot but there is a learning curve!

The quality of what it scans is quite high. The instructions on how to scan non standard negatives such as 110 and 126 leave something to be desired. It's really a hit and miss experimentation. Overall, I very much like the scanner.
