Awesome Scanner

I bought this scanner a few months ago but wanted to wait until I had a chance to use it on different types of images before commenting. I love this scanner! I have been waiting for something like this to hit the market for some time. I have scanned hundreds of negatives and many slides. I am even considering rescanning the old photographs I have already scanned using my printer. That is how good this scanner works for me. In my opinion there is no comparison to anything I have done from home. This scanner has paid for itself - just with the negatives - several times over.

I've used the scanner for 35mm slides that are 40-50 years old. Easy to use, scans well, and the tray worked perfect. Very satisfied with it. However, the front auto scan buttons don't work if you run the cable thru a multi-port USB box so I end up doing the scans thru the software. The spot remover is not very good. You can often see a fade circle where the remover was used. If you're going to digitally clean the images use different software.

Best Scanner for the money

Purchased the scanner about 3 months ago. decided to pay for a better model and it really paid off for just a few bucks more. Extremely happy with the performance and quality of the photo and negative scans. Provides ease in touching up, removing noisy, cleans up the picture especially older pictures and so forth in scanning.

Just Getting Started - Scans are Really Good

I've had my V600 for about a month or so and used it to scan in old family photos and b/w USN ship photos. The results were very nice! Since I also have an Epson WF-7620 printer with scan features, it took a while to figure out which scanner was showing up and once I had this figured out, scanning the photos was a fairly straight-forward process. It isn't instant gratification, there is a learning curve, so you learn it and understand there is a time frame involved so grab a beer and do your thing! I will probably have this scanner ready for use for a long time now - it gets the job done and I'm pleased with the results. You will need to go to the Epson Website and follow their instructions for setup if you have MS Windows 10 OS on your computer - (bummer!). But, once it's up and running, it's good!

I purchased to update an older Epson scanner I have had for many years and would have continued to use if it would have worked with my new laptop. The V600 was easy to set up and has worked fairly well. It has locked up a couple of times. Also I have found it does not scan all size negatives easily.

This unit was a gift from my son last year. Used it quite a bit, and it works quite well. Only problem seemed to be that one program was not compatible with windows ten. Presently installed on my new computer.

Works fantastic!

I am a genealogist and previously had owned 2 AIO printers in two years because the unit(s) couldn't handle the minimum amount of copying & printing I was doing. Then I inherited 15 boxes of family photos & documents. When the 3rd AIO broke down after a marathon of scanning, I researched and bought the Epson scanner. It works perfectly! I was able to scan 400 photos in a day without one single problem! There are 4 different scan choices from "just push the button" to professional grade. Choice of labeling the photos and where to store them, automatic color-correction, clean-up options, cropping of photos. The scanned photos and documents have come out clean and sharp. I couldn't be happier with the Epson results and work ability. The unit's size is also just right for storing on the average bookcase.

I purchased this scanner this summer. It worked great for a while. Now it gets stuck and I have to move my mouse to wake it up. I have a lifetime of pictures to scan, worthless!
