I have been using my V600 to scan slides that are up to 30+ years old. For a flatbed scanner, one word, amazing. I was able to use it straight away without even reading a user manual. The user interface is very easy to follow. I am not sure why some say it is complicated, it is far from that. spend a small amount of time tinkering with buttons to get a feel for what it can do and you will learn more about what it is capable of then reading any user manual. Great scanner for the price.

Great product. Just like it said, load software, plug in and scan. Did just that and had no problems.

V 600 Scanner

I bought this scanner with hi hopes of using it on various size photo negatives that I kept through the years, some being 50 years old. At first I had a lot of trouble producing digital pictures I wanted from the negatives scanned to my computer. The info supplied with scanner was good to install and hook up everything, but that's where it ended. I spent quite a few hours trying and retrying to produce what I called good pictures on the computer. So far I've successfully scanned 4 different size negatives. You have to experiment with the holders for some of the smaller negatives. I'm sure this machine is capable of producing a lot better pictures once I get better at using it. So far (about 1 month of ownership) I am satisfied with my purchase. I'm not a pro photographer just a hobbiest and I would recommend this V600 to others.

V600 Film Scanner Review

It worked right out of the box. I probably scanned 600 35mm slides in the first few days. At one point, there was a green vertical line showing up on the final .jpeg. I thought the machine was broken, but reviewed the trouble shoot help menu, and it suggested that I change the resolution settings and that fixed the problem.
I love the ability to scan Hasselblad negatives (B&W too) and slides as well as 35mm color negatives and positive film. The auto mode setting seemed to work fine for 35 mm slides. In the professional setting, there are many choices for resolution settings, which is very nice. However, be aware if you pick 9600, your final .jpeg file will be 32 megs, which is very large.
Overall, it is a great machine and well worth the cost because it does 35mm as well as medium format negs as well as positive film.

I just got this scanner and love it. I scanner a very old picture that was yellow and fading and it came out like new. the Digital Ice fixed cracks in some of the old photos. I also was able to make copies of negatives from the 1940s. It was easy to make a PDF as well. The Epson Perfection V600 does the best job I have seen.

I've had my V600 Photo Scanner for about nine months now, and I've digitized well over a thousand slides and negatives. I am not just pleased, I am absolutely delighted with this machine. And the Digital Ice feature does a great job of cleaning up dirt and nicks on the originals. The overall results are at least as good as those for pictures that I previously had digitized commercially, and all things considered, the price is quite reasonable.

I really love this scanner. It is quiet and fast and does a great job scanning in photos and various paper documents and such. I especially like the ability, using the software included, to scan multiple pages into a single PDF document. It saves alot of space over the way I used to do it when I scanned everything in as a JPEG and had to save Page 1, Page 2 etc. for multi-page documents. It's also designed for easily scanning from books. I almost bought Canon instead but they were out of stock in most places and high-priced otherwise. I'm glad because this is probably a much better deal.

The V600 is doing everything I want. Once I find the instructions on how to scan an item, the mechanics are very simple. The quality has meet my expectations and the time it takes to scan slides, negatives, and photos is acceptable. PDF documents are easy and quick.
One annoyance is manipulating through the instruction manual. One has to jump around to get all the steps needed to understand what is appropriate in order to accomplish what I want to do. I did have conflict with existing Epson printer (RX600) that eliminated its ability to scan.
I highly recommend this piece of gear. Hopefully instructions will be better organized in the future.
