Fast & Efficient

I was replacing an Epson 4180 that had a broken drive cable and upgraded to an Epson V600 that would work with my newer computer running Windows 7 64 bit OS. I have a deadline for a major project, so I was extremely grateful when the scanner arrived at the door just three days after ordering it - and I used regular shipping. It only took a few minutes to load the software, hook up the scanner and begin processing pictures. I was able to process over a hundred pictures that afternoon using the automatic feature - which is fully automatic. I just placed two to three pictures on the flat bed, clicked the appropriate buttons and it did the rest without having to do anything else. I am already familiar with the Epson Perfection interface from the previous scanner and look forward to using the advanced features for other projects in the future. This has been a very wise purchase

Living In The Past

I'm writing this review on my second V600. The fist one died within the first 24 hours of setting it up. From the first attempt to use it, it complained about the cover not being closed, not being able to communicate and it made strange noises. But, it did work a couple of times and the results were great. I got the defective unit replaced without any problems. And, I'm now in the process of converting my collect of slides and B&W film and I'm extremely happy with the results so far. Only problem I see with this unit is the slide/film carrier is flimsy and Epson does not sell replacement units. If this unit keeps working the way it has so far, I'm going to need a new carrier in the future. So come on Epson, make this key component available on your website. Or, build a more robust carrier and send a replacement to all us registered owners.

It's a Good one!

I am not a computer wiz by any means. This scanner just about set itself up and I was scanning anything I wanted in just a few minutes. Now just an hour or two into it I have successfully scanned photographs, slides, negatives and some philatelic items. Not only was it easy, it gave me results that were beyond my expectations. The only concern I have are the film holders. They seem to be a little on the cheap side. If there are any upgrades to these, it would be a major improvement. This product is everything I could hope for and is a real bargain.

A Superb product

I replaced my old Epson 4490 (which I used heavily for 5 years) with the new V600 model. Epson has perfected the product superbly. V600 is fast, extremely precise and the outcome is outstanding. I use it to scan my old slides and I am very satisfied so far (much faster than 4490). It scans photos and documents as good as well. I use the provided software for photo and slide and am quite happy with it. I don't use it to scan documents. I look forward to using my new V600 for another 5-10 years.

Excellent Scanner & Great for Photos

I purchased this scanner because I do a great deal of photo work. I needed a scanner equipped to scan at a higher pixel number. This scanner is great. It is easy to set up, easy to use and delivers an excellent product. It is definitely worth the price. I highly recommend this scanner. You won't be disappointed.

Great scanner

I did a lot of research on scanners before choosing the V600. I have hundreds of slides from the old days of shooting 35m film and really wanted to be able to save them.
The scanner was easy to set up and worked flawlessly with my Mac. The unit processes four slides at a time and, in my opinion, the clarity and sharpness are as vivid as the original slides.
The software worked great and there were no problems in learning how to use the scanner. I was up and running in no time. Buy it! It's worth it.

I have always had good success with Epson products. I really enjoy all of the features that come with this scanner with one exception.The main reason that I upgraded from a cheaper scanner to this one was for the ICE program that came with it.I have to be honest my scratched up and dusty pics. look better before I scan them using this new program. I am really disappointed with ICE but the scanner itself is great.
