V600 on Win 7 is OKAY!

I received my V600 2 days ago and it installed on my Win 7 PC without any glitches and the updated drivers are also installed and working. I have tried all the features including OCR and find them to work as expected. I especially like the no warmup time for scans.
I have also installed this on my Win XP PC with the same good results. A very good buy for the price.

I am copying 80 years of photos, slides, etc. for my family history. This unit fit the bill for slides, photos and film. Making a tedious job as easy as possible. I am not very savey when it comes to all the new technology and this unit made it easy for me.

This produt has lived up to all the hype I read while researching desktop scanners. I've had the V600 a little over a week and I've scanned over 1,000 old pictures. The set-up and installation was simple and the quality of the scans is awesome. The dust removal feature for old photos is amazing.
Don't hesitate to buy this scanner, it is great!

Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner is awesome

I am super happy with this scanner. It scans photos better than any other scanner I've ever used. It blew me away at how well it scans film and slides. It takes a few seconds to load the film and slides into the holder, but it works great. This saved me time and money to scan some old negatives and slides I wanted to digitize. Updating the software driver was a breeze. I highly recommend this scanner. If you have a lot of documents to scan, then buy a scanner with a document feeder instead.

Nice but not as user friendly as I had hoped

Once you figure out how to use it the quality is pretty good. I've had this for a month now and I still can't seem to see the dramatic changes with the dust removal and ICE program options..they advertise these as something great, but I've yet to see it and or figure out how to get the big changes they say.. the basic scan, with correct settings, seems to look great by itself..I"m happy with it and glad I purchased it.. I just hope get to see the ICE program work like they advertise some day.. It was not as user friendly as I had hoped so this is also why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Had an Epson Photo 2400 but couldn't find current software, so ended up with this scanner to replace my other scanner. Love the PDF feature. Highly recommend this one.

V600

The V600 is quiet and so far does all that was promised. While scanning is slow at high resolution it is possible to vary the resolution to very low for quick reference thumbnails. Now I have to scan and catalogue negatives, prints and slides from the past 50 years.

Quick Setup & Easy to Use

The scanner was easy to setup taking only 10 minutes, including loading the software. I scanned several old pictures at 600 dpi and they scanned very quickly compared to my older all-in-one printer, scan, fax & copy. I have not used all of the features on the scanner yet, but scanning old pictures at 600 dpi using unsharp mask and color correction was quick and easy. Included in the box was Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.0. Even though Elements 10.0 is out now, when I ordered I was expecting to receive the older 6.0 as shown in the ordering literature, so getting 9.0 was an added benefit.
