I purchased the scanner 2 days ago. Loading the software on my Mac was straight forward. I have scanned prints and slides in full auto mode so far and found the results perfectly acceptable after a little tweaking using the apple aperture software. I have yet to try some of the custom features but remain confident that they will do the job. This scanner is excellent value for the serious photo buff.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Outstanding - flimsy hinge and negative holders

Scanning of documents, pictures and negatives is outstanding. The software is easy to use. The ability to scan 4 medium format negatives is very useful to me. I owned a Epson Perfection 2450 prior to this V600. The V600 software and capabilities are much greater than the 2450. But the 2450 was heavier and seemed more solid. The hinge for the cover of the scanner and the negative holders in the V600 appear to be flimsy. However, if the V600 holds up for a couple of years despite the apparent flimsines, then the V600 will have been an outstanding buy.

Nice scanner

I bought this scanner so that I could get my father and mother's old pictures saved onto a CD. It has so far done a nice job.
The color correction isn't what I expected, puts off some tonality issues.
But all in all very sharp scans.
I would recommend this to a friend!

V600 Scanner

Santa picked out a great scanner! Easy setup and PC install. You do have to remember there is an on/off switch on the side of unit. Took me 2 minutes to figure out why the power light was not on. The rest was easy as pie. Love the auto photo fix software.

Epson V600 Scanner

A very good scanner. I have scanned about 700 slides already. My friends can't believe these are from slides because of the good quality. This is my 2nd Epson V600 scanner. The 1st one had to be returned because it would not work. I received a 2nd one within a week. The only thing I would change, you have to touch the glass everytime you remove your slides, otherwise, it is a very good machine for the price...

I am absolutely amazed. I haven't even touched all the possibilities yet but just the slides that have been in a box for over 40 years are coming alive and rejuvenated by this amazing machine. Thank you Epson for having made it possible for me to have received such a wonderful Xmas gift.
