Good product with good results. It's a little unusual opening the software compared to what I was use to but once open the results are good.

After 1 use, I stored it away, and now it doesn't power on. But its quite a scanner, unlike anything I have ever seen.

I am so pleased with the quality and ease of use this scanner provides. I am scanning slides and negatives and viewing images that I haven't seen in 30 years. It scans 4 slides or a strip of negatives but separates them into individual files, with up to 1200 dpi. I can't wait to see what other gems I discover!

Digitized My Life

My dad began photographing our family in 1946. I got this scanner to scan 35 mm slides as well as black and white negatives. This summer I scanned 2000 slides and 100 black and white negatives. I know there are slide only scanners but they would be useless when I was done scanning. This is a legitimate flat bed scanner and now functions in that fashion. I use it with a Macbook pro which made the buttons on the scanner non-functional but I controlled the process on screen. The ICE software useful, but not intuitive.

35mm slides and film transfer to my computer
on January 27, 2017

I purchased this scanner for Christmas for myself so I could start transferring slides and film negatives to my computer. My computer has Windows 10 so I had to download the driver update. I am still working on slides and I probably will be for some time as there are a lot slides for me to work on. I have not attempted any negatives yet but I am sure that they will transfer as well as the slides I have done so far. The process of slide transfer is time consuming but well worth the effort so far. I am more than pleased with the scanners ability to download the slides and with the software to edit the slides after the download is complete.

Same Great Features

After years of service my old Epson scanner was having trouble connecting to my computer. As I use it every day I couldn't have break down on me. I'm sold on Epson so I went looking for a new one. "More features than before, new and improved, higher resolution, etc, etc, etc." When I plugged it in and started using it . . . whats this? It has the same screen controls as my old one. Checking all the new wonderful features I came to the realization that the V600 was the same as the V500 that I have had for years. Same resolution, same color controls, etc. etc. But the new one is in an entirely new cabinet. It's black instead of gray. I'm I mad? No! This new one is far better looking that the old one. It's black and matches all my other computer equipment. Isn't that what's important. I keep telling myself that . . . and the trouble connecting to my computer, bad Cable. My son is using the V500 in his business now.
