Not only is the v600 an excellent slide scanner, it is also a great slide restorer You can eliminate imperfections and return original color. My thousands of 1960s and later slides have been digitalized and preserved forever.

I HAVE HAD THIS WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT. I WAS VERY EXCITED. HOWEVER, NOT PROFFESSIONAL ENOUGH FOR MY NEEDS. IT HAS PLASTIC CARRIERS AND GLASS SCRATCHES VERY EASY. I YOU NOT BUY ANOTHER ONE.

Works great - until it doesn't.

I bought my first V600 about two and a half years ago. I was very, very satisfied until a few weeks ago when I started having problems. Sometimes it would scan negatives and slides and sometimes it wouldn't. (Scans of paper photographic images always worked perfectly.) After fighting with it for at least a couple months, I was told by my computer guy that there was a problem with the rear projection bulb -- or something like that -- but that it was hopeless to repair it because it was out of warranty. To cut a long story short, I opted to buy a second one. Now I'm waiting to see if this one does the same the same...

Good Product, very bad instructions

I purchased this over a month ago and just could not get it to work properly. The instructions were vague at best on how to convert slides to Digital. I finally went to YouTube and a video explained it perfectly. There are still a lot of features I need to try but at least I have the basics thanks to YouTube.

I bought this a few weeks ago and have been very happy with its performance and features. I have a few hundred 35mm slides that are about 45 years old that I want to digitize and this scanner has been doing an excellent job. The finial results are very good quality! Highly recommend this scanner.

Two months ago I replaced my old Epson Perfection 1640SU with the V600 Photo Scanner for my iMac Mini. The V600 produces the same high quality images from opaque and transparent originals with much more convenience and ease. Key features include the multiple image transparency mask, the automatic selection of image type and size, and the management of the scan image files. The V600 has been trouble free in operation, providing a real productivity boost, particularly when working on projects that include scans of different types of materials: size, color, black and white, print, photographs, artwork, apaque and transparency.
