V600 Photo Scanner

The overall scanner is Excellent. It's fast and the quality is great.
The only warning I would give is to not rely on the image correction software to color correct or fix all scratches. The software is limited and you can do better in photoshop. The color correct software can overcompensate some pictures and the scratch removal will not eliminate all scratches. As long as you realize that your OK. I do 2 scans, one with color correct and one without, I pick the best scan and bring it into Photoshop to finalize.

I've had this V600 Scanner since July 2012, and it has never failed to amaze. You can't do better than this.

quality of production and extremely reliable.

I have had the V600 for almost 10 years. I have scanned both pictures and negatives hundreds of times. The LED lighting never appears to change color or brightness as Fluorescents. IF it quit today, I would have another by the weekend.

I use my scanner just about every day with my iMac and Photoshop for documenting vintage dog show magazines and memorabilia. I even used it to reproduce color transparencies from the 1940's and 1950's that had never been seen before and I was able to share them with thousands of fanciers on Facebook. It does an amazing job and my Epson scans can be tweaked to, well, perfection. I bought my first Epson Scanner in 1994 with my first Macintosh computer. That scanner came bundled with Photoshop 3.0 and I have been a loyal customer with Apple, Adobe and Epson ever since. This scanner is superb. (BTW my scanner in 1994 cost tens times as much as the V600!)

Excellent Scanner

The Epson V600 has exceeded my expectations. I have used it to scan hundreds of photos and documents. It offers so many options and is easy to use. One feature I really like is that there is no waiting for the scanner to warm up. It is ready to go as soon as the item being scanned is on the scanner. I have also used it to scan photos at different locations so I recommend keeping the original packing in case you need to transport it offsite. Scanning documents in PDF is also a neat feature.

High quality, easy to use

This scanner was a breeze to set up - ten minutes out of the box and I was scanning. The quality of the scanners far exceed the unit it replaced. I've scanned prints, negatives and documents. this unit is not designed for high volume document scanning but it does a wonderful job on the things it was designed for: photos. I scanned a photo which I swear came out better than the original. I would buy again.

Epson printers and scanners...
on November 4, 2015

from moreno valley, Ca...
this is only my second Epson scanner since early 2000. my son needed a scanner so I gave him my Epson 4490, which has operated flawlessly since I got it.
My Epson 1430 Photo printer does things I could not deo in a darkroom in 5 hours back when I did film photography and is the finest photo printer I have ever seen.
the scanner does a wonderful job on photos, negative film and slices and takes only minutes to process and then print and I can do a weeks' worth of photo work in maybe 2 hours sitting in the comfort of my own home.
Oh, never, Ever buy anything other than Epson ink or you will regret it seriously and eventually ruin an Epson printer...
Superb products..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Most Sincerely,
Haggiez

V600 for slides
on August 5, 2016
Posted by: Family
from Illinois
I used this to scan the family collection of color slides - large and time consuming. I scanned at 2400 dpi so it takes several minutes to scan 4 slides at a time - but I could do other things on the computer while the scan was running. Waiting for 2400 dpi with digital ICE could get old real fast if you just sat there. It is important to keep the glass clear as digital ice did not remove larger lint and dust. The software was very straight forward and the supplied software could be used to largely restore the color of slides that were faded and had lost color balance or slides that were taken indoors under poor light. You get more flexability with this flat bed design than a simple film scanner - costs more but I felt the quality and versatility merited the cost. I did use it for a massive collection of family photos.
