Just what I wanted

I am 70 years old and have been shooting photos since I was about 8. I kept a lot of the negatives in a cigar box I painted in cub scouts. It is time to preserve the images. This scanner does just want I want. I can fit the various odd format negatives in the film holders with a little bit of creative use of black construction paper. I am scanning them at the highest resolution. It takes some time, but the results are great. Storage is cheap so why not get the b best resolution. If I had to scan stuff 40 hours a week, I might have gone for something quicker, but for what I am doing this fits the bill. I also use it for OCR and it works fine for that too.

I have tried other scanners for scanning slides with not so great results. This scanner does a great job of scanning my old family slides 3 at a time. It also does a great job on regular photo's but I would highly recommend for digitizing your family memories.

Love the features

I was looking for a unit to view and print 620 size film and this model does a great job. The quality is excellent and easy to use. The added features and negative holders that come with this scanner is an added extra. I use it for negatives mostly. Love it.

Competition for Canon CanoScan

This was a purchase in March 2018 to replace a almost new Canon CanoScan 9000F MarkII that no longer offered support for Mac OS X 10.13.4 or its prior version. Nor did Canon offer any resolution or offer any help in resolving this issue. Explaining this situation to Epson, Epson was very helpful on determining what of their scanner products could replace this Canon product and would be compatible to Mac's OS X High Sierra operating system. Epson recommended their V600 Photo Scanner and the short time I have used the V600 am amazed by its simplicity of use and what it is capable of doing and so far can do the same thing that I was initially doing with the Canon 9000. The short term use of a perfectly good scanner scanner because the lack of support by a manufacturer is a real cost reckoning.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great pictures

We created a family history album and the pictures turned out great, including the ones from the early 1900's. We didn't try the more advanced features, but what we used worked well.

Great product and easy to use

I bought this a month or month-and-a-half ago to start scanning thousands of pictures of various sizes. They are old photos from the 20s 30s and 40s and newer photos as well. Somewhere very small like 1 by 2 inch.
Took this computer nerd around 15 minutes to hook up the machine and another 20 minutes to learn how to use it. At 300 DPI 600 DPI and 1200 DPI it is very fast and the quality of the pictures is so much better than the originals. The cropping feature with the software is absolutely wonderful and allows the scanning process to go much quicker.
I would definitely recommend this scanner to anyone trying to capture old photos and numerous photos as I am doing. Great products so far
