power button at REAR side????

Come on now... What went into your thinking??? This is too much of a given so I am not going into details... And please do not tell me that the power button was not placed in front 'cause it might be pressed by accident.. It can be away from the function buttons on either right or left sides OR can be on the side of the scanner BUT up FRONT.
You will really need to work to get me to agree on your decision!
Joe

super easy to use

I have only had the scanner for a couple of months but so far it has been very easy to use. I have scanned photo graphs, 35mm slides, and text documents. All come out very crisp and clear. On some very old slides I used the color enhancement/restoration features of the software and they came out looking like new. So far I am very happy with the scanner.

Great scanner but NO 64-bit drivers

I have owned this scanner for almost eight years now and have scanned thousands of pictures and documents. It does a great job but I scan my pictures into Photoshop Elements which is now a 64-bit program. The Epson Twain driver for this scanner is still a 32-bit driver so it is now incompatible with Photoshop. I had to buy a third party program (VueScan) in order to scan my pictures directly into the Photoshop Elements editor. Come on Epson! If you are still selling this ancient scanner, please create a 64-bit version of the Twain driver.

Good scanner but absolutely terrible software !!

The scanner might produce some good results, but this is when the software work!
The Software is absolutely terrible ! Does not respond and crashes most of the time, its extremely slow, and honestly I run a i7 16bit computer from 2017 on windows 10 and I feel like im working on a Windows 98!
This is truly disappointing ! A major update needs to be made. First and last Epson scanner on my side.

Surpassed my expectations!

I had hundreds of pictures, 35mm, and medium format slides and negatives to scan, and needed a scanner that could do a professional job. I was concerned that the V600 would not be able to give me the final output I needed, and would need to get Epson’s model V800 or V850 to get the results I required. But being on a tight budget I couldn’t afford to step up to that level, so I bit the bullet and got the V600. The quality of the finished images are amazing, and I’m so glad I purchased this unit.

very poor installation program
on August 23, 2019

Every program on the installation CD asked for the same VC_RED.MSI and even though I went online, got and installed the file, your installation software still asked for it. The only program I managed to get installed was from your web site. Not good enough Epson!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have two other scanners but needed a third one to increase the speed and quality of my scanning and to allow me to scan negatives. This scanner ended up being a great purchase on both counts. The negative scanning is terrific! It is fun to turn old strips into high quality digital photos. It scans at a high enough resolution to blow them up nice and big. The regular scanning is great also and the software allows you to scan several photos at once and draw outlines around them right in the tool so it scans just the photos but all at once. The only downside is that the scanner software seems to have some memory bugs and will complain that I need to close other apps even if nothing is open. A reboot of my PC fixes the problem. Also I need to reboot every time I shut off or disconnect the scanner. Mostly I do a large batch of scans at one time so it doesn’t bother me too much.
