It does the job

I have an Epson Workforce 2540 all-in-one and also the Perfection V600. There was very little difference in the scan quality between these two scanners. Color correction for accuracy is needed with both scanners. I was not impressed with Digital Ice because it created pixelation in some areas of the photos and took out some details as if they were dust. I do all of my editing in Photoshop Elements and don't need Digital Ice anyway. If you don't have a scanner, then the V600 is a good product at a good price. If you already have an Epson scanner, then there is no need to buy the V600 unless you need higher resolution and the ability to scan negatives and slides. Epson makes quality products and I have owned several Epson printers and scanners over the years.

Very good scanner. Fast, beautiful scans. DO NOT purchase for the Digital ICE feature. Totally worthless. Introduces artifacts when used.

I bought two Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanners for my business. I needed a scanner that can scan photos, negatives of many sizes, slides, and various documents. I recently scanned the class photos of an entire senior class from a yearbook. They turned out great. And I've only begun to scratch the surface of what this scanner is capable of. Small enough for home. Big enough for business. I could not be happier.

Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner is Perfect

I purchased the Epson V600 so I could scan numerous black & white & color negatives into my digital photo collection. After a quick trip through the instructions, I was quickly & easily scanning negatives onto my hard drive. Scan times depend greatly on how detailed you want the scan, but I can scan 24 negatives at a reasonable detail in about 10 minutes. The 1st part of the process gives you thumbnails that allow you to discard any photos you don't want, and then do the detailed scanning. I am scanning negatives that we taken in the early 70s and they are coming out as good as the day they were taken. This scanner is perfect for what I do!

Good scanner, bad software

I eagerly awaited delivery of the Epson V600 scanner and upon receiving it attached it to my iMac computer. None of the bundled software will work, period. The onscreen message states there is no communication with the scanner, however if you go to OS X settings and pull up printer/scanner and the V600 is listed. using OS X to open the scanner I can use the V600 to scan what I need to but not having the software that came with the machine working is a real problem. Therefore the V600 is not worth the price.

incompatibility with windows 7 64 bits

I have this scanner since March 2011. I had a problem with previous PC, Win XP. So I did not use the scanner more that 3 times. I purchased WIN 7. Now it's incomptible. I went to epson and they gave 3 drivers to download. scan, copy, event manager.
The emanager kept error Message "eevent stopped working" I unistalled driver and reinsalled. Noww error "scanner stopped working". I reinstalled all 3 drivers and I hardly can scan decently. The buttons from the scanner itself DO NOT FUNCTION. Epsson has to create a CD or a TOTAL download to make this Perfection V600, scan prosfessionally and not partially.

I'm an artist who was looking for a good quality, affordable scanner. I had two people, who are in similar lines of work, recommend this to me. So far I've mostly scanned pencil sketches, but they come in exactly like they look on paper – no thin lines go invisible, line weights and pressure look accurate. It's exactly what I needed. As for the logistics of scanning with Photoshop? Piece of cake. Simplest process I've ever used. My only (laughable) complaint is that the nickname in my Finder is "Perv600" lol. ;)
