Needs a manual!
on January 28, 2014

This product does not come with any manual. By trial and error I think I can make it do what I bought it for, but that took a lot of trial and error, and I have no information about other things it might be able to do. For example, there is no explanation of the function of the four button on the front of the unit. There is no need for a 100-page manual, but a straight forward 10-page manual would greatly enhance the unit.

I know that this product is amazing, but Epson and Windows 10 do not work together. The Epson software does is not recognized by Windows 10, making the product useless to me. Now I am angry that I have spent this money and am not able to use the product.

Epson V600 Scanner

First I'll start this off by saying I've had four Epson inkjet printer and really enjoyed them all. But this scanner is one of the worst I've ever used. There seems to be dust on the lamp or lens. I've cleaned the glass bed over and over but the same little swirl of lint always appears in the same place. I don't know what the technical term is but there seems to be numerous pixels that always come out white. Even though the price is reasonable don't waste you money on the Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner. Sorry Epson, but I have to be honest.

I've used my scanner a couple times and now it stops at random places or doesn't start at all. I'm not very happy. Troubleshooting not available.

Excellent scanning lame negative carrier

The scanning is great but the negative carrier is pretty lame. it;s pretty hard to work with somewhat curled negatives let alone badly curled ones. I really like the ice and dust removal. overall I like my scanner but please come up with better negative carrier that would hold them flat.

i have had the epson perfection 4490 for a few years and still use my epson stylus photo R2400 printer. I also have NX 415 and my wife uses the NX 430 wireless for her laptop All these are excellent products and I have recomended and will continue to them. I bought the v600 scanner because I wanted to upgrade my scanner and as usual it is great!! I haven't used it that much yet but so far so good. I am an amateur photographer and the photos and slides have come out perfect. I especially like that I can scan wide format negatives which the old scanner ( pserfection 4490 ) could not do. I 've scanned 3D objects and the DOF was amazing. Set up was a snap. my only suggestion would be to go back to adding a printed user manual. As good as your product is it will be worth it fore someone to pay a little extra.

Good Scanner for Slides
on April 26, 2012

Scanner arrived within a few days of being ordered. I purchased it after my old scanner finally failed to function. My purpose was to scan in hundreds of slides, some more than 50 years old. So far I have scanned over two hundred slides and have no real complaints. Once I finish the slides I plan on scanning some very old b&w negatives to see what is on them. I have high hopes that the scanner will do the job. So far I am satisfied with its performance.
