V600 Scanner

I have hundreds of negatives, positives (slides) and photos that I would like to put on CDs or DVDs, or in albums, or even make 8 x 10 photos for framing. Also, many Ektachrome slides taken around 50 yiears ago have now deteriorated to almost a monochrome brownish-orange, not suitable for any use. I had a good film scanner (no photos), but it had no features like adjusting resolution or color restoration. When I changed from Windows XP to Windows 700 and Vista, it no longer worked. A friend told me that he bought an Epson V600 about a year earlier that would scan negatives, slides, and photos and that it had features like selecting resolution and color correction. After researching it and viewing comments, I ordered one. It had one defect in that there was a tiny white spot, apparently under the glass where it could not be reached to clean. Epson was very helpful in troubleshooting, and sent a replacement along with instructions to return the defective one. I tested it in all modes, including restoring the color on an Ektachrome slide, and I was very pleased with the results. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
One addtional comment. When my friend recommended it, I researched it and noted the price had gone up something like 20%, maybe a little less. I decided to think it over, and the next day decided I would go ahead and order it. I found that the price had gone up overnight close to another 8% or so. It is still worth it, and it was just a little over 1/2 what I paid for my original scanner that had no editing featuires and would not scan photos.

works well, has some issues with u having to present through out the scan. If you are not at the keyboard with encouragement to continue it won't.

Perfection V600

Exceeded my expectations as I only needed a scanner to temporarily replace my 836XL. Although not as large a scanning area the results are superb. Scanning transparencies yield results that exceed that of the 836 in my opinion for a fraction of the cost. Reflected scans are clean and rival the originals when scanned properly. Software is simple but full featured and installed without any issues under Windows 7 Pro.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have had outstanding results from this scanner. Very easy to use, simple setup, settings are easy to use and all scans are perfect. From pictures to documents this is the best scanner for the job. Highly recommend this scanner. The name says it all. Perfection.

Hi Tg43,the V600 Photo transparency area can scan 35mm slides, film strips or 6x20cm medium format film, which is the maximum size for the backlight. If your film fits within that size, it can be scanned using a third-party film holder or by using anti-Newton plates. EPSON V600 SCANNER

Following the directions I tried to set up the scanner but was unsuccessful. Directions very sketchy. Mostly just pictures. Could not get the disc to load or get the software to load from the web site. I will try to get some Epson help over the phone. Very frustrating trying to deal

Didn't work out of the box - known software issue

Scanner doesn't work. The scan software appears not to be compatible with my Windows 10 HP machine. (New computer, bought Jan 2022.) I've been through several YouTube videos and online help pages; it's a known problem. I need to scan items, but the V600 is too much trouble to be the solution.
