Rarely Works

I am constantly having to uninstall and reinstall the software in order to get the scanner to connect to my computer. I asked other people that also own this scanner and they have the same problem. Because it rarely works, I can only give it 2 stars. While it scans well, it is of no use to me when it rarely works.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Most features are NOT Windows 11 Compatible!

We bought this a few years ago but never got around to using it until now. When I try to install it on my Windows 11 machine, it doesn't work properly. You can scan to PDF but none of the other features or software applications which tell the device what to do will work. Seems odd since they are still selling this model on their website and at big box stores. Don't waste your money if you are running W11.

Starting Scanner

I installed the software disc, and set up the scanner.
However, when pushing any of the buttons to start the scan, or clicking on the Epson Icon, it quits without doing anything! Not a great start! Help?
(I've looked at the guide, but have not found a solution to try.)

I have been using my scanner for about a month and totally enjoy it. It produces the excellent results that it has stated in brochures.
I would recommend this unit to anyone that wants to transfer slides or negatives into digital pictures.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good scanner - but

Film and slide holders are bit flimsey in addition to not making very good scans. The holders position the film just high enough off the scan surface that the scan is a bit fussy. Any curl (and what piece of old film does not have some), will vary in sharpness. Not sold on the film/slide ability of tis scanner.
On the other hand, photo scans and other flat materials are spot on. The ICE technology is slooooow but good. I have about 75 years of family photos to preserve and this scanner seems to be up to the task. Just need to decide which are worth the extra time to use ICE and which are just as easily corrected in CS6.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bought 122916,due to medical issues have not tried to use it until now. Cannot connect it. Will be shipping back. I refuse to pay your company for tech support.under warranty until 122917 and its original state

Excellent Quality

I do a job every year that requires scanning hundreds of old photos and clippings. I don't know how its speed compares to others on the market today, but this scanner is 3-4 times faster than my old one, and the color is excellent. It saved me a lot of hours. I'm looking forward to trying the film scanning features.

I love this scanner. It has produced great scanned images of some old photographs, which was the whole purpose of my purchasing it but I am going to enjoy using the other features, scanning negatives and slides. Very pleased with my purchase.
